It's a rainy Sunday and I'm surrounded by mountains of washing ! Looking at pictures coming out of Rome of Kittys amazing wedding to her rich gorgeous fiancé and feeling a tad envious

I wish Lady Kitty and her husband a long and happy marriage.

I would be hugely sad if my 30 year old daughter married a man of 62.

Yeah, it's all great until they hit their sixties and their healthy goes downhill. Marry a man twice your age, and you'll be the one caring for him for his last couple of decades, only to find there's no one left to care for you when you're old.

I wish them well but attracted to age or possibly a decent inheritance perhaps? Perhaps they will be happily married for decades. But perhaps not? There are younger attractive billionaire men and older age appropriate ladies to make more suitable and equally balanced partnerships.

She's beautiful and well connected. He's rich and well connected. They are actually a good match. The marriages that make me feel sad are very powerful wealthy men, marrying very beautiful young girls, from modest backgrounds. The power imbalance in those is worrying.

Will it last? Who knows, but marriages very rarely last these days irrespective of age, so they have as good a chance as many. At least she'll be well set up if it doesn't.

I really like her dress - yes, it's over the top, but it's the perfect occasion and setting to showcase couture like that.

Oh dear! Those Spencers!!! They are blighted; I really do feel sorry for them. The only sensible one was Diana's sister who declined Price Charles. I know from hearing about them when I was young in the village.

Oh for the predictable nasty bitchiness of Mumsnet. Michael Douglas is 25 years older than his wife, and they have been married for over two decades. If MN had been around then you would all have been making spiteful comments about that wedding and her dress. Never seen so much jealousy jumping out of the comments.so transparent.
