I was looking at sparkles on the sea today, it just made me so happy.

What makes you feel alive? - it doesn’t matter how small.

This is lovely. My ones are:
Having a fit of the giggles with an old friend. A great orgasm.
Connecting with nature.
Heart to hearts with people I feel loved and accepted by.
Freedom to do as I wish how I wish

I love this thread, thank you for starting it. I've had a bad day and reading this has cheered me up!

My things are:
Seeing the autumn leaves on the trees

Going for a walk early in the morning when it seems like nobody else is awake, everything is so quiet where I live and all I hear is birdsong.

Dramalady52 · 22/07/2021 23:44

Laughing, singing along to the radio, dancing. Enjoying nature.
The first rain after a hot spell, I will stand in the garden and get soaked for a while just to feel the relief.
Today, I danced with a water sprinkler in a friend's garden like a child!

A windy winters night . Rain lashing at the windows . Listening to it all snug in bed and no work in the morning . Bloody love it !

“Silkiecats

Flying in aeroplane especially when coming into land somewhere new or going into clouds.”

Yes! And especially just before the plane takes off, when it has gone down the runway a while, pauses, almost seems to pull back…then roars and rushes forwards faster and faster.

I’m really going to do some of your suggestions, I’m so glad so many of you liked this thread. I needed it too ❤️

Polar bears. They were my favourite animal growing up. I saw a real one for the first time recently. I now live in walking distance of 8 polar bears (the biggest collectionoutside Canada!) ... and realise its a massive privilege to be close to them and the other animals.

And feel a bit guilty as although they are well cared for and the breeding programmes are helping endangered species, these animals should be free.

Wild swimming. I have been doing it for the past few years and it has really upped my mood. I’m lucky enough to live in the Lakes but am bit disheartened by the new wild swimming craze that has been fuelled by social media. Not everyone respects the countryside in the way they should sadly. However in the ‘off season’ it brings me great joy.

Open water swimming. Just got back from a 7am swim. Sun up and the water was as warm as bath water. Heavenly.

Shodan · 23/07/2021 09:32

Being a passenger in the car- I can crane my head to look out of the window and see birds of prey, fields full of crops.

A karate class when I've started off feeling tired, but go home feeling energised and smugly pleased with myself Grin

DP taking hold of my hand when we're walking somewhere. He's not a a natural hand-holder so it's always a lovely surprise.

If the cats have been out at night, when I go to let them in, one of them stretches his whole body up the glass. His furry tummy makes me happy Smile

Mountain grass, being blown by the wind. High up in the UK mountains, not a soul in sight. Just me and the grass... and the ground nesting birds.

I live in the Lakes too and completely agree with you!.... Early early morning swims this time of year are the best! Then I swim in the evenings between the months of Sept-April 😀

Watching the water and walking along the waters edge
Seeing my kids play together or do something kind for each other
Watching the sunrise/sunset
Hanging out a huge line of washing and then admiring it all day (this one was a surprise to me too, a lockdown habit for sure! Grin)
Planning a really big trip - we took a 4 month trip and got back just before things kicked off. I love the lead up, booking all the hotels, cars, flights, planning what to do, the anticipation and then the actual travel itself.

Endofether · 23/07/2021 09:52

@Annoy agree! Early morning right now is lush (I live in Cornwall )

Mrstreehouse · 23/07/2021 21:45

@Annoy totally agree. We sometimes go really early on a weekend and make breakfast by the lake. Bliss.

Elbow - One Day Like This!!! It lights my soul!
Yes, me too.

I like listening to it with the video, the young guy, dancing with the 'Condo' sign.

deadflowers · 23/07/2021 22:13

Walking on a beach on a cold windy day

Driving to see my DF, it’s a scenic drive, plenty of time to think, and traffic not to busy

Certain times and types of sex … no need to share specifics :)

Funerals
