What Makes You Feel ‘Alive’ ?

RadioSixMusicLover · 22/07/2021 20:52

I was looking at sparkles on the sea today, it just made me so happy.

What makes you feel alive? - it doesn’t matter how small.

An Attack or Combat class with banging choons. Something more sedate.....looking at my washing drying on a full line- heaven!

FizzyLizzie · 22/07/2021 21:55

Exercise, specifically strength training.
Great sex
Autumn leaves, colours and smells.
Sometimes smells that take me back to my childhood.

badlydrawnbear · 22/07/2021 22:01

Sunrises and sunsets
Camp fires
Listening to a band playing live

Cosybelles · 22/07/2021 22:02

I love this!
Exercise, sex, exploring a new place, fast driving.

Icannever · 22/07/2021 22:08

Being in the sea and waves crashing over your head

cheezy · 22/07/2021 22:12

Swimming in cold water. Dread it but it makes me buzz.

BecauseIdontWantTo · 22/07/2021 22:15

Walking barefoot on grass, gives me a strangely uncomfortable prickly feeling.

Having a really cold shower, invigorating!

itsallaboutschmoo · 22/07/2021 22:16

Singing in harmony with a big group (extra points if it's on stage as part as a finale of a musical.)

First rehearsal back last night and I'm GIDDY at singing with my pals again

SugarMiceInTheRain · 22/07/2021 22:19

Being on stage. The feeling you get as the music starts at the start of a play whole waiting in the wings is like nothing else. The buzz of performing is addictive

vampirethriller · 22/07/2021 22:21

Sunshine on very cold dry days.
The moon.
Trees in summer.
Being in a car very late at night, or very early in the morning, in cities.

HopeYourHighHorseBucks · 22/07/2021 22:23

The typical fun fair adrenaline rush is one. The bigger the better, I buzz all day off it Blush

Every day ones. Making my DC smile, seeing that pure love in their little eyes. Animal watching, even if it's a tiny little ant going about its day, it fascinates me. Watching my DC play after dinner.

FreeSpirits · 22/07/2021 22:25

Seeing my breath on a cold sunny morning

plominoagain · 22/07/2021 22:33

The moment just as you’re counted down to the start of the cross country phase of eventing, when they get to zero . I swear my old boy used to be able to count , because he’d start bouncing at 5 , by 2 , we would be proper zebedeeing , and at zero , I’d lean forward , ease the reins , and he would leap like a dolphin and we’d be away . That moment there .

YawningAngel · 22/07/2021 22:34

I think it was 2009, when there was a heavy snow in London, and Johnson told all the bus drivers it was too dangerous to go to work?

My bit of south London that day was soooooo peaceful. You could hear all your footsteps in the snow, and once everyone stopped being confused they all decided to live it up a bit. The local pubs (especially ones with open fires), were just full of happy people who couldn't belive their luck, just hanging out and having a lovely grown up snow day. The vibe of that day was just so great.

abouquetofsharpenedpencils · 22/07/2021 22:34

Gazing at the moon (did you see tonight’s moon? Beautiful!)
Singing in the car along to music at the top of my voice
Going on the bouncy castle
(Aged 42 Blush)

Opening the door to our holiday let after months of claustrophobic lockdown where I felt walled in. In that moment I felt I woke up and alive.

Crunching on frosty grass on an icy winter’s early morning on the way to work. I yearn for frosty winters where it’s so cold, your blood sings. Now that’s feeling alive

MarieInternette · 22/07/2021 22:38

Coming in to a roaring fire after a walk in the winter. Can’t beat warming your bum by the flames.
Going full tilt on horseback ideally on a beach (or somewhere where there’s lots of space to gallop properly)
Skiing as fast as I dare.
Listening to rain on the windows.
The stillness of an early summers morning or the quietness of snow.
Feeling the sun on my back or face.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 22/07/2021 22:39

lots that have been mentioned already

and road rage🤣

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 22/07/2021 22:43

Running (even although I'm crap at it and do nowhere near enough)

A really nice view, of the see, or a forest, or mountains etc. Sometimes I forget to look around and take things in, but then when I do I get this overwhelming sadness that I never want to leave this world, and that I'll never get to see most of it in my lifetime.

PuffinPeter · 22/07/2021 22:48

Lots that has been said already, plus dinghy sailing in a stiff breeze so you are flying, spray in your face, or kayaking slowly as the sun comes up, at water level and just seeing everything from a different angle.

Silkiecats · 22/07/2021 22:51

Flying in aeroplane especially when coming into land somewhere new or going into clouds.

Rainforest

My kids

Seeing wildlife

Ziplining very high up

Canoeing

White water rafting

Swimming especially outdoors in sea, Lido etc.

ribbonsred · 22/07/2021 22:51

Performing small acts of kindness.

robotcollision · 22/07/2021 22:57

Outdoor bootcamp as the sun sets under the trees or when there is frost on the grass. I love working out outside in all weathers.

Running into the sea until you are completely submerged then jumping the waves.

Being about to go to bed and going outside for one last look at the moon or stars.

Hand feeding wild animals and birds.

Milomonster · 22/07/2021 22:59

New York, the Azores, hot yoga, driving with my roof down (especially in the Highlands), beautiful music.

BogRollBOGOF · 22/07/2021 23:34

Running
Swimming (found some outdoor places)
Hiking
Singing (especially windows down on the car with a watm breeze)
The smell of tje first warm rain
Laughing (especially until it hurts)
