Positive and negative!

I went to Las Vegas, glad I went, but no desire to return! :)

Would never return to Warwick Castle. It's quite over rated...and not much even happened there, it just looks the part! :)

Harrogate - Dullsville
Manchester - Dumpsville
Dublin - overpriced

StrangeLookingParasite · 22/07/2021 21:16

Paris no decent parks/green spaces. Very obvious racial divide with all the black street sweepers.

You spent all your time in the 7ème arrondissement?
How about:
Buttes Chaumont (as previously mentioned)
Bois de Boulogne (during the day, I cannot stress this enough)
Bois de Vincennes
Parc Floral (specific bit of B de V)
La Villette
Parc Monceau
Jardins de Luxembourg (positively excellent children's playground there - it does cost, but it's about 2€)
Parc Montsouris
Bercy

Just a few.

brokenbiscuitsx · 22/07/2021 21:19

@FaceyRomford

Munich. Dull as ditchwater.
Are you joking? Munich is amazing! The beer halls are so much fun! There’s so much to see as well! History, castles, museums. We spent a hot afternoon in the English gardens just watching the surfers on the river. I’m looking forward to going back.
CeliaJ · 22/07/2021 21:20

Blackpool....tacky place...suits some people but not me. Just down the coast is Lytham...much better beach and more class.

MakeMeCleanTheHouse · 22/07/2021 21:22

Disneyland Paris, overpriced and overcrowded
Dublin...(it rained which may have affected our impressions) but honestly wandered around wondering what was so special
Zante tacky tourism
Florida once was enough

HalzTangz · 22/07/2021 21:24

@SmidgenofaPigeon

Margate.

Oxford! I found it so boring, weird vibe and lacking in charm.

I agree about Oxford I was so bored there too.
MakeMeCleanTheHouse · 22/07/2021 21:24

Centreparcs
Tintagel

Both overpriced and exploitive

LaundryForever · 22/07/2021 21:26

Manchester, genuinely don't see the attraction
Amsterdam, I felt like I was missing something?

HalzTangz · 22/07/2021 21:27

@Henlie

Bangkok..... Felt very on edge there 😏
Now Bangkok I loved, I'd emmigrate their if I had the funds
omgthepain · 22/07/2021 21:27

I went to Toronto as my friend was working there I found it very dull however Biafra falls was amazing

orchidsonabudget · 22/07/2021 21:30

Brussels
Went looking for Le grand place Walked through it looking for something grander

HalzTangz · 22/07/2021 21:30

@IseeScottishhills

Singapore we stayed in the Marina Bay Sands which I agree is pretty spectacular especially the swimming pool, ate in Raffles one day, street food the next, went to the orchid park, museums, Gardens By the Bay, the bird park etc but I wouldn't bother to go back. Next time when we travel to Borneo I would just fly in and fly out on the next available flight.
Agree, Singapore is beautiful but only a one time visit. We toured the whole of Singapore in 5 days
Husbandswife · 22/07/2021 21:31

Venice
Athens
San Fran
Detroit

Sn0tnose · 22/07/2021 21:32

Margate

Gentrification my arse

That made me laugh. Margate is what it is, and turning Benbons into Dreamland and sticking an art gallery there is not going to help it. Even the seagulls carry flick knives in Margate.

Turin. It’s an attractive city and we stayed in a beautiful hotel and ate in some lovely restaurants but I felt disappointed with it for a reason I can’t quite put my finger on. I loved Rome though.

Paris. Again, it’s nice, but I don’t get the passion some people have for it.

Torquay. Was very unimpressed.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 22/07/2021 21:34

Sheffield. More because I was there as a student and I picked the wrong degree and had a mental health crisis. I'm sure bits of it are nice, but the town centre was full of people asking for money so I mostly got on the tram and escaped. I hope it's improved since then!
Venice. Was there during the carnival. Over rated and over crowded. Everything was shut due to the carnival, except some very expensive restaurants who didn't take credit cards but we couldn't find a bank or a cash point. Got some lovely pictures though, in between getting lost, barged out of the way and generally hassled.

Kolo · 22/07/2021 21:40

@Soubriquet

Sundown adventure

Very tired place that charges adult prices for 2 year +

I get it’s aimed at toddlers so they can go on everything but for the price it was, it was very expensive

Oh I've got so many happy memories of sundown from when the kids were little. They have an all year round Santa ride, which has got to be worth a visit by itself! The weird old 'attractions' are part of the charm!
over2021 · 22/07/2021 21:41

Cairo, only place I've travelled that I felt genuinely unsafe.

Amsterdam- seedy and full of chavvy boys looking for weed and sex.

Seesawmummadaw · 22/07/2021 21:44

@babbaloushka exactly!

ineedsun · 22/07/2021 21:44

Southwold- overpriced, dull, unattractive, overly full of toffs.

DGFB · 22/07/2021 21:46

Cornwall

But give me London any day!

NanooCov · 22/07/2021 21:47

Rome. Just far nicer places to visit in Italy and the petty street crime / pickpocketing was ridiculously prevalent.

mamaduckbone · 22/07/2021 21:49

Milan - too industrial
The Eden project - I enjoyed it but wouldn't go back
The south coast of Cornwall - really quite disappointing

ineedsun · 22/07/2021 21:49

Australia - I’ve been twice for family reasons. Unfriendly, sexist, racist, a sense of nationalism which I just don’t get because of the history of the place.

WingingItSince1973 · 22/07/2021 21:50

Disney World Florida. My lovely dad took myself, dh and dd x 2 many years ago. It was an experience but nothing as magical as I thought it would be. My girls confessed they much preferred the beach holidays in Wales 🤣 Mind you they were little and my youngest was terrified of all the dressed up characters .

ineedsun · 22/07/2021 21:51

@Kolo

My kids loved it, I think our record was thirteen times on the boozy barrels in the driving rain (because everyone else was too sensible to want to go on it)
