🎵 Every day I hear a different story
People sayin' that you’re no good for me
Saw your lover with another
And she’s making a fool of you, oh

🎵 If you love me baby, you'd deny it
But you laugh and tell me I should try it
Tell me I’m a baby, and I don't understand

Go Wham!

@ISaySteadyOn

Because the behavioural psychologists at SAGE did a very good job. Whether they should have done (they shouldn't, how can they sleep at night) doesn't matter now.

And because now, to be constantly afraid is virtuous and a symbol that you care. If you're not cowering in fear, you are probably an extreme alt righter or something. At least that's the impression I get.

Ah you've explained it far more concisely and elegantly than I did! Smile
chocolatesweets · 18/07/2021 08:48

Hi, hope you're all doing well.

DrRamsesEmerson · 18/07/2021 09:20

I lost you again for a while- I’ve had a bad couple of months one way and another. DD now through Y6 and didn’t lose her last few days of term to a pointless isolation, so I’m letting myself breathe out.

smallandimperfectlyformed · 18/07/2021 09:55

Good to see you back chocolatesweets and DrRamsesEmerson, really pleased your daughter hasn't had to miss her last few days of year 6. So pleased they will not be doing the cruel bubble system come September in England! Am feeling better today than I did, have a children's party to go to at a soft play centre this afternoon and last week went to another one at a community centre. It's lovely to see children having fun with their friends again!

Shocked neighbors friend at a garden BBQ last night when I said I don't have the app. Could have heard a pin drop. How do you eat out. Well it's called pen and paper

They're all retired, the hosts at one stage were afraid to eat out in case they were pinged. 🙈

Haven't got any interesting vegetables yet but the bonsai tree DS brought home from university is interesting

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba

and there was the broccoli ketchup too🤢🤮
Is that ketchup to disguise the taste of broccoli?
Taswama · 18/07/2021 11:33

When I have cut back on trips to the gym or seeing friends it has definitely been fear of getting caught by Royal Mail (Track n Trace) and having to isolate, rather than fear of actually catching something and getting seriously ill.

I was surprised how not busy the pub gardens were.

I think this is a combination of T&T, the need to book bloody everything and all the 'rules'. Some publish so many rules that you think stuff that for fear of doing something wrong but fortunately a few of the local ones around here are pretty relaxed when you get there. Can't wait though to be able to actually order from the bar next week Grin

justasking111 · 18/07/2021 11:46

Is so busy here the holidays and tourists everywhere. Been staff abuse reports already because of our differing rules

Happy Sunday! Smile I've missed you guys and your pets and vegetables. I totally lost the AD threads for a while and then I've tried to pretend that Covid doesn't exist anyway - it had been surprisingly effective.

I have had a positively joyous morning thus far, unblocking the sink u-bend (DH usually deals with all things plumbing but he is at hospital with DD1 who had a seizure on Friday and is in for obsv again Sad). DD2 and DS are outside practising gymnastics with their little friends from down the street and one friend has already got a bump on the head and had to come indoors for a bag of frozen chips (since frozen peas are reviled chez Jourdain and we therefore have none in stock). And DD2 had suddenly shrieked that she needs 3 boiled eggs for Science Week tomorrow (??) and do we have any eggs in the house? Of course not!

Meanwhile an insane Bengal cat has got into the house and is currently running around and refusing to leave!

Honestly, sometimes I feel like someone could just come and film Daily Life here and make it into a bloody sitcom. They wouldn't even need a script!

Jourdain11 hope all goes well with DD1. I saw those posters earlier justasking111 they are hardly welcoming. I must confess as a plague ridden Londoner the press from various other parts of the country about not wanting us to come and bring the virus has made me less likely to want to holiday in certain areas in the UK! Hope your day gets better IRanSoFawAway1

ISaySteadyOn · 18/07/2021 14:43

Quite.

Jourdain11 · 18/07/2021 14:47

There are some posters in The Other Place who I can't quite believe are for real. Are they doing a massive wind-up? I really can't tell any more!

Thanks for the welcome. I feel like we're in lockdown again (dh has had the week off). I'm so tired today and looking forward to working tomorrow. It's way easier than being off with two 3 year olds. We've had a great week but I'm spent.

Do you have twins? Awww... But also, hard work! My eldest two are 14 months apart (and DS is only a year and 10 months younger than DD2) and wow, it was SUCH HARD WORK when they were that age. We've just about got to the point (9, 7, 6) where they can all independently entertain themselves nowadays and it is blissful!
