Supermarket delivery substitutions

I ordered spelt bread. I have received a big bag of rabbit and guinea pig feed. I do not have a rabbit or a guinea pig. I now don't have any bread either.

What bizarre substitutions have you had?

All my gluten free things substituted with normal (e.g. bread, puff pastry etc)

Real meat instead of Quorn.

My best one was when DD was a baby. I ordered a box of Pampers & received a box of plasters.

Totally inadequate .

I ordered gluten free bread got linseed bread which contains wheat so under substitution I put gluten free bread for the next shop it didn't specify bread on the screen just gluten free to the desperation of the picker her manager called (my friend) DUDE! our handsets are fucking up gluten free WHAT! poor picker didn't last long i only got most my order because I ordered the same thing weekly (literally)

I once received 12 bulbs of garlic instead of 1. However, that was my mistake instead of a strange substitution. I ended up taking several into work and giving them away. My most memorable sub was half a dozen eggs instead of a Mini Eggs Easter egg.

I ordered a lamb shank and got a turkey leg? At least give me the same animal?!

Ordered lemon grass and got lemon thyme? That would have been a weird Thai curry!!!

Ordered non scratch washing up sponges.... Got some kitchen foil and normal washing up sponges. Thought that one was clever!

Ordered shampoo, got hairspray. Not the same brand or same price, so I have no idea what was going on there. There can't have been no shampoo at all!

This isn't so crazy but it made us laugh. Last year, when pasta was hard to come by, I ordered one of the huge bags of fusilli. Not available, so they sent us the equivalent weight of spaghetti. I understand the thought process, but there were about 15 packets! We just kept finding them in the bags...

DD thought it was hilarious, and we were still finishing it off a few months ago. It was weird the first time I had to physically buy spaghetti again, rather than selecting a new pack from our spaghetti stock!

Ordered pepperoni pizza.
Got coconut yoghurt

Although at least they tried. I've had no available substitution on pizza several times. I refuse to believe they had no pizzas in store at all.

Can honestly say that they're my most fave threads EVVA!

Ordered coffee, got gravy granules....not even nice gravy granules.

This wasn't my substitution but I had an online shop delivered with a random sub and the delivery guy said the funniest one he'd seen was when someone ordered sanitary towels but was given razor blades instead!
