Random, I know.

Anyone else just fancy the arse off celebrities but from years ago or even before you were born?

I have such a thing for Roland Orzabal of Tears for Fears, but only in their early 80's era, specifically in the "Head Over Heels" video which would have been released when I was about two.

Also George Peppard circa 1960's and David Cassidy in the 70's (might have read too many of my mums vintage Jackie annuals in my teens.)

I'm hoping it isn't just me!

A young Peter O’Toole, Prince Rupert and Che Guevara Grin

yummytum · 03/07/2021 15:10
@yummytum yes, young Ralph was gorgeous. Not sure I can count him as before my time though!
I'm 22 so he's more than twice my age GrinBlush

So many! Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, Pushkin, Paul Newman, Olivier, Brando, the list goes on! 😍😍🥰

Gardengirl1978 · 03/07/2021 18:34

Michael Wilding when he was in Spring in Park Lane as a Duke undercover as a butler trying to clear his name.

Pacino but only in The Godfather, before he got scruffy and eccentric.

Richard Gere in Pretty Woman

Barry Manilow in the 80's when he sang passionate songs at the Royal
Albert Hall.

Purplealienpuke · 03/07/2021 20:25

Jimi Hendrix, Phil Lynott, Marc Bolan, all gorgeous and talented ♥
I have a real thing about Clint Eastwood when he was younger too.

kierenthecommunity · 03/07/2021 21:25

Michael Nesmith

I preferred Micky Dolenz. Them capering around on our TV screens every summer holiday kept them forever young. But in fact when I watched it they must have been knocking forty.

I always thought Richard Beckinsale was beyond gorgeous but when he was in Porridge and Rising Damp I was at primary school. When I watched the reruns he’d been dead some years already 😢

I had a bit of a niche crush as a teenager on Lindsey Buckingham. Everyone else was mad about Jason Donovan or the Bros brothers but I liked to be different 😂 He’s only about 20 years older than me and his wife has just left him, so there’s still a chance 😂

MrsDoctorDear · 03/07/2021 21:52

James Coburn. I had a tiny picture cut out from a newspaper and stuck in my diary so I could kiss it every day. I was 11 he would have been 52 Grin

Clawdy · 03/07/2021 22:11

Did someone say The Monkees were "knocking forty" when they were on television?! The series ended when they were all in their twenties, although endless repeats were shown.

BunnyRuddington · 03/07/2021 22:41

I had a Paul Newman poster as a kid that a much older cousin had given me. He was seriously hot!

Clawdy · 03/07/2021 22:49

Oops, sorry, just realised poster meant the Monkees were 40 in real life as she watched the old series! I am losing it, must be the Saturday night wine....

MrsToothyBitch · 03/07/2021 23:48

Robert Hardy as Siegfried in all Creatures Great & Small Blush. I'm 31.

Peter O'Toole. Stunning.

I didn't quite understand that David Niven was so much older Blush.
Young Clint Eastwood, and Gregory Peck, Clark Gable, Paul Newman of course.

But I also had a huge crush on Dustin Hoffman that I don't understand now. I think they must have showed all his films and I just got a teen-girl-fixation-doesn't-have-to-be-anyone-attractive thing

inigomontoyahwillcox · 04/07/2021 09:43

Those eyes!

Totally get Lindsey Buckingham too.

MrsToothyBitch · 04/07/2021 11:00

Oooh yes to Lindsay Buckingham. Yum.

My mum used to have a thing for the guy who played Ginger in the tv version of Biggles!

AutistGoth · 04/07/2021 12:30

Yes! Gustave Mahler! Very attractive.

zen1 · 04/07/2021 12:44

Oh so many! Particularly ballet dancers / actors from the 1930s-1950s:
Hugh Laing, John Gilpin, Antony Perkins, Ramon Novarro, Tab Hunter, Dirk Bogarde...

I was born in the 70s!

Lemonwoe · 04/07/2021 12:47

The guy from a-ha!!

quirkychick · 04/07/2021 13:10

I was a teenager in the 80s, so Morten Harket in A-ha and Michael Praed in Robin of Sherwood, not so before my time.

Richard O'Sullivan as Dick Turpin, I'd forgotten. I was definitely a child then.

AlCalavicci · 04/07/2021 13:27

@IAmLiamNeeson, Adam ant is still HOT !
I agree with so many post , Paul Newman , Clint Eastwood, Steve Mcqueen in Le Mans , Tom Cruise in Days Of Thunder ( apparantly I like a grease monkey Blush )
And Billy Idol , to be fair considering his drug and drink fuled life and age now he is still a fine looking guy !

BorderlineHappy · 04/07/2021 13:39

Oh Billy Idol in the shower scene for "Catch my Fall" is just perfection.
And now I've forgotten what I actually came on to say😂

KillingMeDeftly · 04/07/2021 14:14

@inigomontoyahwillcox Peter O'Toole is one of two actors who I think looked best with a cigarette dangling from their lips. And I'm not a fan of smoking! The other is Jean-Paul Belmondo.
