To be honest I feel burnt out and that I have given up, so I just plod on and look for other ways to make money.

So could you

Gally123 · 29/10/2021 18:04

quite pleased - this looks being my highest earning month (DICT8 & Tpro combined) since October 2018! Finally heading in the right direction, hope it stays that way.

KAnthony · 29/10/2021 19:02

@Gally123. Very pleased to hear! I’ve also had another good month. Feel like good earnings can be made as long as the work flow is stable

carosel2 · 29/10/2021 23:53

@Gally123 - yes I rely on Tpro boosting my earnings. Ive struggled with Dict8 this month but the beauty of having Tpro has helped immensely

Gally123 · 30/10/2021 08:31

@carosel2 - I have noticed half term week with DICT8 when there have been times with no tasks available, but was surprised to find that the Irish seem to have the same half term week, as last week there were over 2,000 letters available on my hospital, this week down to about 700, but at least there is work. Did you get the reminder email about the sending in invoices by end of Monday? They did not mention any change to the exchange rate being used.

carosel2 · 31/10/2021 09:17

@Gally123 - yes I got the email. There wasnt any mention of the rate was there. Dict8 has been dire this week with long periods of no tasks but it is school hols. Ive made abt £40 all week with them whereas Tpro £100. I only have one hospital with them and there was abt 300 letters but still enough to make some decent money, for my target anyway. I asked them abt rate increase in time and they said all they can do is give the bonus of 10% if you type over a million characters, which means a hell of a lot of hourly input. I wished id not heard of the other lady having been given double the amount we are on as I cant help comparing if ive made £300 then others are earning £600 for doing same amount. I know I agreed to the contract so really I cant complain other than not doing the work. A lot of time I find typing a letter quicker than checking the VR instead of having to backspace, delete, add in full stops, spaces etc so its just like typing from scratch anyway that allowed the better rate for not having VR. At least it is still topping my earnings with Dict8 and I dont feel my time is wasted sat at my computer waiting for a task coming in as I just switch from both work loads

Gally123 · 31/10/2021 09:32

@carosel2 - I did not think people on the lower VR rate got the bonus for typing over one million characters. I shall have to check as I think I did that once.

Do you ever check whether you still have letters in QC for checking with Tpro before you put in your invoice? I found once that after I had submitted my invoice the number of characters increased slightly, so now if I type any letters with a query in I keep them in my WIP file until the new month as I do not want them to go to QC and not count in invoice data (like now at the weekend with QC staff not working).

With my hospital with Tpro there are two mainly letter layouts - one on headed paper and one without. I find that the character count is often higher on the headed paper layout as it seems to credit for odd things (like if there is a two doctor sign off) whereas there is no credit for typing in GP details or CC details, which are often automatically inserted but not always. All rather odd, whereas for the no headed paper you get credited for everything but it takes longer to type in.

I have one doctor that regularly comes up that I have to type from scratch as the VR cannot understand his American accent (neither can I sometimes) and it is complete gobbledegook. I try and avoid him if I can but his team come up under the consultants name and not individually.

carosel2 · 31/10/2021 10:28

@Gally123 - no I dont normally check but I havnt done any since Friday and just looked now and it says two still in QC. Ive made a note of my amount of characters and so if they dissapear tomorrow and.my count goes back to zero I will question it if it doesnt add anymore on for this.month. I know its only two letters but I still want paying for them. I didnt notice anything in my contract about the one million but seem to have heard it or read it somewhere but its only when I enquired about a pay rate increase did they email back with that which isnt much as it only equates to €770 with 10% on top of that which isnt worth the effort to me. I dont have to add Doctors names, addresses etc unless its addressed to someone different as they are already added at the bottom of each letter. Mine are straight forward as its only one hospital but I have noticed I type a lot for the same doctors and when I look back at letters for advice say I can see its me that's typed them lol but some are being changed around by the secretary regarding format. Ive mentioned this and i was told to carry on doing how tpro state and if they want to change at their end its up to them but it seems pointless when its correct to the agreed format by the hospital and its being changed because the secretary doesnt like the format it comes in at. Its supposed to help them with their typing quantity and if its being changed its taken them more time to alter it back. So im just doing as im told and if they change it so be it.

Hi guys,

To any T-Pro users quick question,

When I fist started in September/October there was roughly 1700-2000 letters for my one hospital in my server. I am now currently down to 400. Is this possibly due to the Irish October school holidays? Anyone any idea if this tends to pick up again?

Thanks as always guys :)

Gally123 · 02/11/2021 11:54

@ShanJG - I am thinking it is due to half term holiday and I think there was a message to that effect yesterday. We are possibly with the same hospital as I too had about 2000 letters at the peak and now down to 400 and struggling with the backlog of October letters as I have no experience with these specialties.

ShanJG · 02/11/2021 12:02

Hi Gally,

Seems we are with the same hospital. Just had a look at the message thanks for that hopefully things pick up soon. I am the same I have been dipping into new specialities and going with dr’s who have good dictation trying to learn some mew specialities. Hopefully it does not quieten down much more as I am hoping on a good earn this month for Christmas! X

Gally123 · 02/11/2021 17:09

@ShanJG - just after Christmas when the work level was very low they linked people in with other hospitals in the group with backlog, so do not worry, unlike with DICT8 when there is often 0 tasks available Tpro will make sure you have something to do.

ShanJG · 02/11/2021 18:52

Perfect Gally. They seem very good that way. My team leads and everyone so far seems lovely. Thank you!

danblack87 · 03/11/2021 13:57

I have to say that dictation on DICT8 today: 80% has been complete and utter rubbish.

Cherryblossom114 · 04/11/2021 09:51

@danblack87 SOUL DESTROYING 😨

Whitestar5 · 05/11/2021 13:20

Has anyone ever had DICT8 tell them to concentrate on one particular specialty rather than another because there is a backlog?

Whitestar5 · 05/11/2021 15:04
@danblack87 SOUL DESTROYING 😨
Absolutely. I sometimes find though that I struggle all day with poor dictation and then later better stuff comes along but by that time I'm too tired to type any more. I hope DICT8 managers can see this thread. We slog all day and only have a pittance to show for it - we need an increase in the rate per line. Even if the dictation is clear it is still near impossible to earn the minimum wage over the course of the day. We work very hard for our so called self employed earnings, but the compensation is dire. Please DICT8 take note of this and look at your profit margins and reward us properly - after all we are the ones that do the awful gruelling.

danblack87 · 05/11/2021 18:00

@Whitestar5: I have never had Dict8 ask me to concentrate on one particular specialty and I have 4 ... how odd? I have been working for Dict8 for donkeys' years [confused). Have DICT8 contacted you re. that or was that just general enquiry? How long have you worked for them, how many specialities do you have? I hope that doesn't happen to me /// rather "cock-womblish" I would say. You can type any of the 5 in your task list and, if I don't like the dictation (as probably another 20 odd people don't), I won't type them because I do not have. WEIRD.

danblack87 · 05/11/2021 18:07

@whitestar5: I believe the better stuff comes later as mostly the dictation is from experienced Consultants working within the 'private Sector' ... that is what I found anyway; but, like you; I am too knackered to continue past or 6pm + need eat, not having eaten all day LOL

Whitestar5 · 06/11/2021 09:53

I still had access to my other specialties, but the one with the backlog was dominating the list. It was more of a request to give that specialty priority over the others, but as you know, as our pay is linked to production it's in our best interest to choose the clearest dictation regardless of the specialty, especially at 8 pence a line! DICT8 were also pushing the boundaries between self employed contractor and employee status by asking this too.

Whitestar5 · 06/11/2021 10:03

@danblack87 They didn't remove my other specialties, they just sent an email, I'm assuming to all with access to that specialty, asking to concentrate on that one particular specialty that they must have been struggling to clear, but as you said who in their right mind would struggle along typing the difficult stuff knowing they would probably halve their pay and it wouldn't be worth their time.

ShanJG · 09/11/2021 21:02

Hey Guys! Does anyone who uses T Pro have any idea if they would pay you for December’s wage early before Christmas? I know it’s usually the following month but have they ever been known to do this so you got the majority of Decembers wage before the 25th?

Thanks.

Gally123 · 09/11/2021 21:30

@ShanJG - the invoice and pay are the same for any month both with DICT8 and Tpro.
