Anyone else seen the news?? Another baby on the way, relationship on the rocks, or good old fashioned age gap love?

It’s all legit

The CC doesn’t acknowledge any previous wedding in any CofE church

Therefore it’s his first technically 🙄

KarmaNoMore · 29/05/2021 22:28

I think I had it with the Catholic Church today, they reject their own divorcees, we are not even allowed to have communion as we “broke our vows”, living in “sin” forever... and then they go a marry this adulterous bastard?

How much did he paid? Because that is the thing with the double standards of the church, you can get your marriage annulled if you are prepared to pay a hefty amount, if you can’t, though.

FrozenVag · 29/05/2021 22:29

Sorry x-post @elphame

QioiioiioQ · 29/05/2021 22:29

Purely a publicity stunt to create a distraction.

DennySaid · 29/05/2021 22:29

@doubleshotespresso - Google suggests that the The Family Law Reform Act of 1987 removed legal disadvantages of illegitimacy - agree it's a fairly hideous thing to do though.

I agree it's massively hypocritical and totally out of step with a Catholic understanding of marriage! Just wondering given some posters above have said that they/people they knew were denied second marriages in a Catholic church (following civil/other church weddings), if the Catholic baptism before any marriages took place is the thing that affects if annulments can be granted. As I say, reading canon lawyers on Twitter, am not an expert myself.

WisconsinRaw · 29/05/2021 22:29

They've done it before but I suspect he'd have extra GUSTO on his wedding night. Quoting Cicero as he ejaculated, belting out Rule Britannia, calling out Maggie Thatcher's name

Reported, for inducing mass vomiting.

vera99 · 29/05/2021 22:29

Well, Jennie Arcuri says he was not well endowed - must be his hypnotic (small) snake-like charm.

The Catholic church does acknowledge other Christian marriages (usually).

I'm pretty sure the Catholic church does recognise marriages that took place in a Christian church. A Protestant wedding will be seen as a proper wedding.
KarmaNoMore · 29/05/2021 22:33

I doubt the Catholic church recognises his former marriages as they were not a Catholic ceremony.

It does count, as priest are only “witnesses” of your vows. In fact, the Catholic Church keeps a list of Christian denominations for you to go to mass if no Catholic Church is available. The list is organised in hierarchical order, the Church of England is the first one in the list.

longwayoff · 29/05/2021 22:35

Ah well. Let's wish them all they deserve.

Serpenta · 29/05/2021 22:36

Oh good Lord. That's what he gets from veering from his usual Sloaney mistresses who wouldn't dream of supplying us with such details Grin
Leonardsgirl · 29/05/2021 22:36

With reflection, if it's true I wish them well, as I would to any newly married couple.

I just find it all a bit unseemly. He's the Prime Minister. All this subterfuge smacks of getting one over on the public. The people who voted his party in. It's just not ok at all.

SunshineCake · 29/05/2021 22:36

He previously married in non Catholic ceremonies which is why he could marry as he has today. No issue with that but do take issue with the claim she is a devout, practicing Catholic given she had a child out of wedlock.

theThreeofWeevils · 29/05/2021 22:36

Looks like Jacob Rees-Mogg has got to him over a bottle of good claret and educated him as to the true faith

At least Rees-Mogg seems to know how many offspring ('Sextus'; also 'too menny') he has sired.

Oh, and he lied about the wedding being next year - add it to the book Clav.

Did they lie? Or does an invitation to "celebrate their wedding" in July 2022 just mean an invitation to a big party next year for those not invited today?

skodadoda · 29/05/2021 22:40

@doodlejump1980

Where are you seeing it op?
It’s on BBC news now. Wasn’t on before because Downing Street hadn’t confirmed it.
tobee · 29/05/2021 22:46

@Alwaystheplusone

So now he’s married, he’ll be looking for a Carrie replacement.

I think that vacancy has long been filled.

YogaLite · 29/05/2021 22:49

How times have changed Hmm
I always thought French (and royals) were a lot more liberal than our politicians. Can't help thinking we would have accepted if Teresa May behaved like that.

BoJo with Brexit was compared to Henry 8th's split from RC church, but he now went a full circle?

Carrie definitely has him by nut nuts. And she can't be in it for the long haul based on the age gap alone. I'd love to see how high she climbs, social/political climber redefined??

That blue coat screams another baby is on its way, no?

IcedPurple · 29/05/2021 22:52

That blue coat screams another baby is on its way, no?

She's definitely pregnant there, but I don't know if it's a recent photograph. Could be from when she was expecting baby Wilfred?

tobee · 29/05/2021 22:52

I hope they're still paying you well Clav.

BlatantlyNameChanged · 29/05/2021 22:53

Jeremy Corbyn has been married three times as well - I think his third wife is a practising Catholic.

Conservative supporters, responding to any sort of criticism of the Conservatives: "but Corbyn..."

Jeremy Corbyn isn't the PM, isn't even a front bencher, and is totally irrelevant.

Definately · 29/05/2021 22:55

@GlutenFreeGingerCake

All very secret and weird I bet Dominic Cummings could shed some light on this.
DC will be annoyed that BJ has tried to deflect from his revelations with this timely wedding. Prepare for more exciting bombshells 💣
WisconsinRaw · 29/05/2021 22:56

My friend used to live next door to him. Not a positive experience.

He's like a Benny Hill version of Henry VIII.
Genius!

vera99 · 29/05/2021 22:56

Clav -the default mode is lying from the great liar in chief - any truth that sneaks in is just a ghost in the machine.

boris-johnson-lies.com/

I refer you to his boss of 20 years who surely knows him better than most.

"It would be fanciful to liken the ascent of Boris Johnson to the outbreak of global war, but similar forces are in play. There is room for debate about whether he is a scoundrel or mere rogue, but not much about his moral bankruptcy, rooted in a contempt for truth."
