Anyone else seen the news?? Another baby on the way, relationship on the rocks, or good old fashioned age gap love?

@Supersimkin2

Who’s paying their honeymoon bill?
I'd be surprised if it was them. They'll have some business tycoon lend them his place on some fancy island. Out of the goodness of his heart of course.

@Supersimkin2

Who’s paying their honeymoon bill?
Johnson won't know himself I daresay. Same as the flat refurb. Hmm
Serpenta · 29/05/2021 22:06

Boris Johnson won't know who pays for his honeymoon. And that won't be his fault. It will obviously be the fault of his junior staff and advisors who should have informed him.

thecatfromjapan · 29/05/2021 22:07

Have I told you this story?

Years ago (about 10), I was at a mum-from-school's house, having coffee, while our children played.

She mentioned she was an ex- of Boris Johnson.

Me, being subtle, didn't push for details but waited ...

And then stuff happened (I think a small altercation over whether her child would eat peas) and ...

I just never found out ...

I was that close to finding out what the allure of BJ is ...

The failure has haunted me down the years ...

Wow, I hope you don’t try that approach with the full range of bigotries.

Statistically 3rd marriages have a 20% survival rate.

Jeremy Corbyn has been married three times as well - I think his third wife is a practising Catholic.

Serpenta · 29/05/2021 22:09

Oh, @thecatfromjapan I would have yelled 'but pleeeeease tell me about your dalliance' as my child and I were being ejected for pea related infractions.

1AngelicFruitCake · 29/05/2021 22:10

@Serpenta

They've done it before but I suspect he'd have extra GUSTO on his wedding night. Quoting Cicero as he ejaculated, belting out Rule Britannia, calling out Maggie Thatcher's name

And so on.

This is hilarious 😄

Gotta bring Corbyn into any thread that's being less than fawning about Johnson.

Dat's the law.

paradyning · 29/05/2021 22:11

@thecatfromjapan Wilf is already baptised a Catholic. So Bozza has already, in effect, agreed for him to be brought up RC

doubleshotespresso · 29/05/2021 22:11

@DennySaid

On the validity of previous marriages issue: there are canon lawyers on Twitter saying his previous marriages aren't valid (or at the very least - are 'subject to a degree of nullity' which might be enough to negate them) specifically because he was baptised a Catholic before any of them took place.
But what position would that leave the children born into these marriages? "a degree of nullity" would mean these children were then born to a marriage that never existed , it would also require the agreement of the ex-wive(s). There are countless baptised Catholics who have been denied remarriage, Boris should be no different.

How often do I replay that afternoon in my mind, with me doing exactly that.

I feel I let myself down very badly.

So now he’s married, he’ll be looking for a Carrie replacement.

RickiTarr · 29/05/2021 22:15

Grow up eh @Tubbs99 ?

Blacktothepink · 29/05/2021 22:15

@Supersimkin2

Who’s paying their honeymoon bill?
A Tory Party donor 😜
Blacktothepink · 29/05/2021 22:15

I wonder if DC was best man 🤣

DonkeysNotDisney · 29/05/2021 22:16

The biggest surprise for me is that a Japanese cat has been a greater letdown than Boris.

I think you must be right, @doubleshotespresso. Nullifying marriages which produced children wouldn't be a very popular move with said children. I only know one person who's had an annulment and that was because she discovered her husband was gay shortly after the wedding. Think it was quite an arduous process though.

Sorry.
rockingthelook · 29/05/2021 22:22

I can't believe he's persuaded one woman to marry him, never mind three ! they must all have worn their gin goggles

HarrisMcCoo · 29/05/2021 22:22

@Unsure33

Stop spreading untruths . His wife found she had cancer after they split .

What a thread if bitchy comments .

They had 30 people , kept the press away and if you are worried about him marrying in church blame the people who you reckon gave him false permission .

Okay, BorisHmm
longwayoff · 29/05/2021 22:23

Bozo twice divorced, father of many, urger of abortion on past mistress/es today married for the third time in the RC cathedral. I'm surprised the Pope hasn't popped along to bestow his personal blessing. Just when you think the limits of hypocrisy have been stretched to the limit, there's some more to go. Many RCs of my acquaintance, especially those abandoned by philandering husbands and subsequently made to feel uncomfortable in church, will be having their faith tested.

doubleshotespresso · 29/05/2021 22:25

@Serpenta I am fascinated to know, this is both fascinating & infuriating to watch. Though I did just read that the cathedral was closed for just half an hour, which would seem to be more likely to be a blessing?

I wonder if Vincent Nicholls will be issuing a statement?

You are correct, the annulment process is very laborious and as far as I understand only very exceptional cases get it granted. I remember reading about one of the ex-wives of the Kennedy clan whose DH had moved on and tried to get an annulment. She took the church to court and successfully argued her children were a testament to her marriage and it was never granted, really admired her for doing so.

Elphame · 29/05/2021 22:28

@LaurieFairyCake

They definitely did

Also really surprised they managed it in the Catholic cathedral

I doubt the Catholic church recognises his former marriages as they were not a Catholic ceremony.

This would be a "first" marriage for him as far as they are concerned
