The one that springs to mind for me is Daniel Merriweather, 'Painted it Red'[?]

Fab thread!

They played somebody else doing a new version of Your Woman on Radio 2 today - can't remember who. I must say, I was only half listening, but I never realised that it was meant to be the same song until the presenter gave the title afterwards.

Rock Me Amadeus was played on R2 yesterday (or possibly the day before) - I remember being surprised to hear it there.

Does anybody else remember a song with slightly silly lyrics for the chorus, but a very catchy tune called All About The Money by Meja? I remember them playing it at least once per day on the fabulous local radio station when I was at uni - Marcher Coast FM (sadly now long defunct). She was the one who did the duet with Ricky Martin on Private Emotion - you hardly ever hear any of his songs these days either.

Shackles by Mary Mary, I think it was about God, and I'm not even religious but it was incredibly catchy, I still get an ear worm with it to this day but I've probably not heard it on the radio for 20 years.

Smokeahontas · 16/06/2021 22:13

Bad Day Daniel Powther is another great song not often heard
And I hate that song Your Women,I would gladly rip my ears off rather than listen to it.

IWanderedLonely God yes, Depeche were brilliant. I think especially around 85 to 93. So many brilliant songs never played.

Klactoveesedstein by Blue Rondo a la turk. Jonathon Ross played it on his Radio 2 Saturday show about 18 years ago. I couldn't believe it. Never heard it played on the radio before or since. Takes me back to the early 80s.

November Rain and Don't Cry - Guns and Roses.
