Radio 2's playlist is a lot less limited than hits or heart, agreed. Although some producers/DJs definitely play their favourites more often than other songs of similar age/popularity. Eg Ken Bruce or his producer has a definite soft spot for Amoreuse by Kiki Dee. Never hear it anywhere else but it pops up a fair bit on there.

If you listen to pick of the pops you often find yourself saying "christ I haven't heard that in years but it was dead popular at the time". I mean I think that a lot. Some songs make it onto semi regular daytime rotation, others just don't.

Where have all the cowboys gone is on rotation my local Tescos at the moment. Hadn't heard it for years before a couple of Saturdays ago.
