Accused of posting on someone's LinkedIn...

I work in a public sector organisation and have been called in by my line manager to say that I have posted something offensive on someone's LinkedIn page and of causing offensive comments on twitter. Confused

I have a LinkedIn account but don't use it much, I do remember following and unfollowing this person a few months ago but no recollection of posting on their page. Is there a way I can check whether I commented without looking at their profile? I know they can see if I have looked at them and I don't want them to make any more allegations about me.

Good luck!! It's absolutely disgraceful what they're doing to you, hang in there.

Best of luck! I hope this gets closed out once and for all

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 11/05/2022 19:26

Good luck! Is there someone else from your union that you can take? Your rep sounds like they're neither use nor ornament!

GeorgesMarvelousCalpol · 11/05/2022 20:50

Best of luck with the interview 🙏
There is An end in sight!
MN can really be a great place, thank you @AlpineChalet !

I think you need to take a solicitor too. These guys are so stupid. (And your rep sounds weak too.)

Agreed. Take it up another notch now.

endofthelinefinally · 12/05/2022 09:15

I would be deeply suspicious of this line manager tbh. Is he the only person dealing with this?

endofthelinefinally · 12/05/2022 09:30

Do not go to interview on your own with him. Make sure at the very least your union rep is there. Preferably HR person too.

DeskInUse · 12/05/2022 10:11

Absolutely take someone with you, if nothing else to whiteness the conversations

Fraaahnces · 12/05/2022 22:32

Just remember nobody from your company is your friend. They’re all trying to catch you up.

RandomMess · 14/05/2022 18:47

I lost this thread due to the changes I hope you have secured top notch assistance to go with you

Ionianprincess · 14/05/2022 20:57

Who’s doing the interview? Is it a hearing manager?

StaceysmomandIhavegotitgoinon · 18/05/2022 18:33

How did the interview go OP?

Bearyhumcrack · 22/05/2022 15:02

It was horrendous. They had clearly decided the outcome before I got there and nothing I said would have made any difference. I got a final written warning. I'm so angry and they have done so much wrong. I'm absolutely going to appeal it.

They used evidence they hadn't disclosed to me, they didn't explain the delays, apparently I was found to be "directly or indirectly linked to defamatory comments posted on social media" which not only is impossible for me to defend, it bears no relation to the allegations I was told over a year ago.

Got a meeting tomorrow with union (current rep plus their union "boss") but I feel like I have serious grounds for appeal. ET 1 form
will go in this week as well.

@Bearyhumcrack thank you for the update.

I’m sorry that it was horrendous. The only positive is at least you have now completed step 1.

In addition to the ET1 you need to do a SAR to make sure they disclose all their evidence and also their internal discussions.

I know you must feel like you have climbed a mountain to get here but now are back to square 1. You aren’t, but you still have a stressful time ahead. Just know we are here to support you.

You can do this.

My God. I've been following this all along and I'm gobsmacked. Time to sue the shit out of them.

i’m completely shocked but please dinky let this put you down. You’ve shown great resolve throughout this. Keep going. It’s disgusting how he has behaved and how they have conducted this process. Take care.

Pirate009 · 22/05/2022 18:47

*don’t

Bearyhumcrack · 22/05/2022 18:54

I've got some fight in me yet. Just adjusted my anxiety medication as well so a bit more "stable".

thank you for your supportive messages. They mean a lot.

Yes it's time to take this to tribunal.

They haven't shown you any of this evidence they supposedly have?

Is that lawful?
