Accused of posting on someone's LinkedIn...

I work in a public sector organisation and have been called in by my line manager to say that I have posted something offensive on someone's LinkedIn page and of causing offensive comments on twitter. Confused

I have a LinkedIn account but don't use it much, I do remember following and unfollowing this person a few months ago but no recollection of posting on their page. Is there a way I can check whether I commented without looking at their profile? I know they can see if I have looked at them and I don't want them to make any more allegations about me.

Just read this thread and OMG! Good luck OP, everything crossed for you.

Readytopop2022x · 22/02/2022 11:02

Spent the past hour reading this thread. Cannot believe this is real life! The fact the company is still allowing this to continue is absolutely disgusting. He should be booted out on his arse! Good luck OP! xxx

Digital forensics about £1100 Shock so I have an interim plan and will use that - if they need clearer evidence then I will have to think about it. Although I will remind them of the burden of proof!!!

Have you asked your solicitor about it? It might not be relevant at all even though it’s tempting to prove him wrong. At this point, given the length of time involved, the lack of evidence and that what you’re accused of is unclear - surely the onus is on your workplace to either, excuse my language, shit or get off the pot. At this point the grievance must likely be yours?

Justkeepleft · 22/02/2022 21:59

How did the meeting your union rep had go?.

2DogsOnMySofa · 22/02/2022 22:00

Was wondering how you were getting in op

Justilou1 · 22/02/2022 23:43

This guy is an absolute dick. Is there no way your solicitor can force your boss to pay for the digital forensics? He is resorting to very serious allegations of falsification of evidence and slander here. (False utterances maybe…)

Bearyhumcrack · 23/02/2022 18:57

I was reviewing the extra evidence that has been sent to me and it shows that my boss has falsified an entry in his notebook. I have a recording of him saying the opposite of what he's written... but he claims what he wrote was at the time of the interview. It feels like this just got a bit easier and a bit more serious at the same time. Rep is on leave so waiting for them to get back for a conversation.

Justilou1 · 23/02/2022 20:55

Boss has gone from shooting himself in both feet and is now shooting his way up his legs.

Bearyhumcrack · 23/02/2022 21:26

@Justilou1 I missed your earlier post but yes, I feel like something serious is happening, and my reputation is being damaged.

He just keeps digging a bigger hole for himself.

Such a good job you recorded the meetings. Just point out to HR/investigation officer the contradiction with no comment.

WRT the recordings it’s up to him to prove you have edited the recordings, and not the other way round.

To be honest I am wondering what your HR are doing, I can’t believe they are sticking to timelines in their process. Hopefully your complaint will prompt them to get a move on.

Hopefully your TU rep can apply pressure when they are back.

I know this is taking ages, cases like this always do, just remember you have been amazing in the calm way you have approached this.

Datgal · 23/02/2022 22:51

Bloody hell...do you work for Boris?? 😜
Joking aside.. hope his arse is quite rightly handed to him.
You are an inspiration. It will be over one day.

winewolfhowls · 23/02/2022 23:02

Gosh i cant believe this is still going on! Sending you positive vibes over the airwaves, i really admire your resilience in the face of such vindictive nobbishness.

Twitchynose · 26/02/2022 10:06

I can’t believe that they are still being so incompetent over this! Sending you extra strength in case you need it, but judging by the incredible resilience you’ve shown up to now, you won’t.

RandomMess · 26/02/2022 16:47

Sending you more support Thanks

You have to wonder why he even said anything in the first place. Is he the sort of personality that always has to be right and finds a reason for every mistake they make to be someone else's fault?

Bearyhumcrack · 27/02/2022 07:58

@RandomMess yes. He can never be wrong about anything, nothing is EVER his fault. Not ever ever. Well, get ready for some uncomfortable revelations is all I can say!!

acatcalledjohn · 01/03/2022 13:16

I can't believe you are still dealing with something (because that's all it is still: an undefined something) that started in May last year. The fact that the company haven't put a stop to it is even more baffling. They will not come out of this looking good at all.

SecretDoor · 02/03/2022 22:30

Is this being deliberately drawn out?
What does the union rep say?

Bearyhumcrack · 03/03/2022 08:43

@SecretDoor it feels like it! I think the phrase "never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake" sums up my union rep's approach. It's almost 11 months now...

Rodion · 03/03/2022 18:00

I like that saying! Basically wait patiently while he digs his own grave.

Playing the long game isn't a bad tactic on his part. It's stressful having something like this running in the backdrop of you life for a long time, many would just walk away.for the peace of mind. I love that you're not though! Hang in there for that moment when the grave is finished and he hops right in Smile.

cdba88 · 07/03/2022 12:25

I don't think I understand anymore why this is being drawn out for so long.

What is it exactly that you're waiting for at this point? And what are the next steps?

I'd be a wreck op!

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/03/2022 16:45

OP is your Rep back yet?

Bearyhumcrack · 08/03/2022 08:03

Rep is back. I think I'm waiting for bosses boss to decide what's happened? I have one more ace up my sleeve I think. I waved between thinking this can't go against me because of the lies and the process etc, and thinking it will because they will cover up any wrongdoing.

OP posts:
theemmadilemma · 08/03/2022 08:58

I can't believe this has run this long. Shock

Alpinechalet · 08/03/2022 09:23

I hope your ace is an ET1. Good luck.
