Accused of posting on someone's LinkedIn...

Bearyhumcrack · 14/05/2021 06:58

I work in a public sector organisation and have been called in by my line manager to say that I have posted something offensive on someone's LinkedIn page and of causing offensive comments on twitter. Confused

I have a LinkedIn account but don't use it much, I do remember following and unfollowing this person a few months ago but no recollection of posting on their page. Is there a way I can check whether I commented without looking at their profile? I know they can see if I have looked at them and I don't want them to make any more allegations about me.

@Bearyhumcrack is your rep actually doing their job properly?

Bearyhumcrack · 08/03/2022 12:54

@Grrrpredictivetex good question. Not sure. I keep being surprised at the things they don't know, have forgotten, or have to be reminded of. Sad

How is this ongoing?

TricksAnd · 08/03/2022 16:44

I can't believe this is still dragging on. How frustrating for you OP

billy1966 · 08/03/2022 19:31

OP,

Just read your posts.

You poor woman.

Wishing you well.Flowers

Justilou1 · 09/03/2022 04:31

Good grief! They are hanging in there by the skin of their teeth! Obviously you need to send your rep an email before each meeting and ask them to re-read your file and familiarize themself with what’s happening so that they are prepare before going in for conference with these idiots.
It almost feels like you should add an extra zero to your payout/compensation for every month this continues to drag.

GreyCarpet · 09/03/2022 07:13

I remember your first post but haven't followed the thread. I've just read the whole thing - nice way to spend an hour or so in bed with a cup of tea before work Wink

I can't believe ots still going on either - I was hoping your recent update would he a resolution.

I'm utterly amazed and yest, at the same time, not surprised that it is still going on.

You are incredibly strong to have been able to continue going through this.

Hoping for a speedy resolution seems a bit pointless now but I really do hope this is resolved soon for you.

What a nightmare!

Milomonster · 09/03/2022 07:27

Gobsmacked each time I come back to this. How are you holding up mentally now?

We are all behind you! You are one strong person.

Lollollol2020 · 09/03/2022 07:51

Have you thought about getting a lawyer? My friend had someone represent her pro bono for an unfair dismissal a lot of law firms offer this. Might be worth looking into.

Pennox · 09/03/2022 08:51

How can this have been going on so long? Public sector or not. Im no expert but surely this is at employment tribunal stage now.

NinjaQueen · 09/03/2022 09:52

I have just read the whole thread, absolutely gobsmacked this isn't resolved.

Good luck, you have been amazing throughout, I hope you get a positive resolution soon!

I actually can't believe it's 10 months today I think!! TEN MONTHS. I have spoken to a solicitor about a few things, defamation being one of them. Unfortunately like with the recordings, it's about money and with gas/electric and diesel absolutely rinsing me, I just don't have anything spare. Need to do some research on likelihood of success because I know the organisation will absolutely not ever pay any legal bills - they have in house advice so I'm at a definite disadvantage.

I'm still waiting to hear about my grievance as well, that went in before Christmas and I know boss will have read the complaint now, I was told when it was being sent to him, I still haven't heard if it's been accepted and will be investigated.

Thank you for all of your support, I really hope my next update will be progress!!

I am surprised how long this has gone on too, I know they can drag out but this is exceptional. Most disciplinary and grievance policies have timelines for how long each stage should take. Underpinning the policies will be the ACAS policies which definitely do have timelines.

If you lodged the grievance before Christmas you are getting close to 3 months, unless their is a clear indication of when you will hear the outcome of both I would be lodging an ET1 to give them a big nudge and make it clear this is not going away.

Asiama · 11/03/2022 12:53

I have been following your thread from the start and am shocked that it is still going on.

Would it be worth asking your union to involve their in house lawyers more closely? The trouble with you seeking your own legal advice and getting your own solicitor involved is that the union may stop representing you. It normally says something like that in their terms and conditions.

BeforeGodAndAllTheFish · 17/03/2022 14:37

OP, maybe you should take this to some charities or citizen groups who help with this stuff to see if they will cover your legal fees and then you can just push forward with taking legal action.

Milomonster · 18/03/2022 09:26

Have you checked out any pro bono services? It’s a shame that legal services are the preserve of the rich. You seem incredibly resilient and I hope you get justice. I agree with outer posters, you need to make other organizations aware of your plight.

Bearyhumcrack · 18/03/2022 16:04

Thank you @BeforeGodAndAllTheFish and @Milomonster good ideas. I'll do some digging.

Just kind of in limbo now... [shrug]

2DogsOnMySofa · 19/03/2022 20:51

I hope you hear something soon, also push ahead with the grievance. I'm gonna smacked at the time this has taken, your HR department and the boss should be ashamed of themselves

FurbleSocks · 19/03/2022 23:22

It's impossible to imagine this can possibly be justified by your organisation. I totally understand about the solicitor costs but it's not a fair fight if you have to go it alone (rep not hugely useful it seems).

Rainallnight · 20/03/2022 00:36

OP, sorry, I’ve not RTFT so sorry if someone has already suggested this but often home insurance policies include legal cover. Have you looked into this?

Bearyhumcrack · 20/03/2022 12:25

@Rainallnight thank you. I have checked and I'm not covered but it's a good idea!

Shock I remember seeing your original post @Bearyhumcrack , I can’t believe this is still going on. Really hope you get an update soon

Bearyhumcrack · 23/03/2022 07:02

Well, I've heard nothing but I did look at the disciplinary policy which said it cannot go on for more than a year... and that time is up soon. So I'm kinda hoping not to hear anything for a few more days and then I can go to town on subject access requests and complaints. Be interesting to see what happens before Easter Confused

I cannot believe you have been out through this for nearly a year OP.

SingToTheSky · 23/03/2022 07:30

My god OP I’m so sorry this is rumbling on, it’s beyond ridiculous :(
