Accused of posting on someone's LinkedIn...

I work in a public sector organisation and have been called in by my line manager to say that I have posted something offensive on someone's LinkedIn page and of causing offensive comments on twitter. Confused

I have a LinkedIn account but don't use it much, I do remember following and unfollowing this person a few months ago but no recollection of posting on their page. Is there a way I can check whether I commented without looking at their profile? I know they can see if I have looked at them and I don't want them to make any more allegations about me.

Just thinking of you and wanted to wish you a Happy holiday season.

Ubiquery · 22/12/2021 18:28

What on earth was the original manager's original motivation for all of this?

Bearyhumcrack · 22/12/2021 22:08

@Justkeepleft thank you. So kind Smile

@Ubiquery mate... I just can't tell you. My complaint is a work of art though.

Power to your pen OP!

CovidCorvid · 22/12/2021 22:40

I’m so sorry this is still going on. You’d have thought HR would have stepped in by now!

Larryyourwaiter · 22/12/2021 22:55

I’d forgotten all about this thread, I can’t believe it’s still going.
I really hope there is comeback for them dragging their heels so much.

Bearyhumcrack · 23/12/2021 14:34

Weirdly very anxious about it all today. I hope/think it's because I'm into my Christmas wine and it will lift a bit when I stop drinking again.

Thank you for all of your good wishes. Almost 8 months now.

Hang on in there op. Wine

SecretDoor · 23/12/2021 16:39

Gosh it is absolutely dreadful that it has gone on so long with no resolution or apology.

BeepBoopBop · 25/12/2021 21:26

Nothing helpful to add OP, but this is horrendous. Stay strong and I hope it is resolved in your favour ASAP. Your LM is a disgrace.

Hornetfarmer · 06/01/2022 13:24

Bearyhumcrack How are things going?

Cakeismyhero · 10/01/2022 20:43

Hope your managing to hold in there OP

2DogsOnMySofa · 10/01/2022 21:08

stmw123 · 13/01/2022 13:48

Grrrpredictivetex · 18/01/2022 08:50

@Bearyhumcrack I'm hoping things are beginning to move for you. Absolutely horrendous how they've handled it and treated you. Keep strong.

Justkeepleft · 18/01/2022 11:19

me too OP thinking of you.

Bearyhumcrack · 22/01/2022 14:49

So... yesterday the union rep who accompany me to my very first interview sent me a WhatsApp saying she had been contacted by big central HR who told her they'd like to interview her next week about an investigation they are carrying out into [vague waving] this.

I am incredibly curious as I have heard nothing and what can they expect rep to know except that the conduct of the investigation was utterly bonkers and not policy compliant.

The rep is there to rep you, not themselves. So this is... odd. Your rep sounds on it though, glad she's keeping you informed. Assuming the questions they ask her will be: "So, what's all this then?" and "Eh?"
Backofthenet20 · 22/01/2022 15:42

They are interviewing the union rep as part of the complaint you made to see if it ties up. Hopefully this is a good thing & that it is coming from central HR shows that your complaint is been looked at independently

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 22/01/2022 16:10

Oh wow - progress!

namechange5575 · 22/01/2022 19:40

That sounds positive that central HR are involved? I'm hoping they are trying to find a way to get rid of him - who knows what he's got on his managers if they have defended him thus far. Well done for your perseverance, I hope it doesn't take much longer. And that is a great idea about you becoming a union rep, taking something positive from this.

Bearyhumcrack · 22/01/2022 19:57

It does feel like maybe they're taking me seriously? But I've not been formally told anything is happening... I'm trying not to overthink but that's absolutely not working! My kind races from them trying to get my rep to say something damning about me, from her explaining how dreadful LM has been. I'm a catastrophiser typically so ugh.

OP posts:
Alpinechalet · 23/01/2022 00:38

Think positive, they may want to talk to your TU rep to find out how to resolve this, as they know they have messed up.

I know the waiting is soul destroying but it will be worth it.

Nothing formal is happening. I hope your rep has asked what kind of meeting it is. I expect they'll be telling her "an informal chat". She isn't at that meeting to represent you, or you'd be there yourself. They're trying to work out where they are in the "process". They are confused as to what's going on. Someone else has become involved from HR and gone: "Eh?" Your rep will say nothing to drop you in it, and can't anyway, because if it were an official hearing - you'd be there. Let her do her thing. In her position I'd be letting them do the talking. She's got this, and you've got this.
Bearyhumcrack · 23/01/2022 10:31

Thank you @Alpinechalet need to charge up my positivity reservoir!
