I think protein yoghurt has just changed my life

OMG it literally has. I just bought the most delicious tasting fat free Icelandic protein yoghurt schizzle from M&S and it's frickin amazing and I'm totally full up after a quarter of a pot! It's bloody delicious! And best of all I've just discovered they stock the same thing in Tesco much cheaper! Am going to eat lots of it instead of biscuits and shit and get all Kate Moss like and skinny!

Had to come on and tell all of your lovely ladies as my husband just gave me a blank stare when I declared it was going to change my life and went back to writing his dull IT paper for work.

Tell me what foods have changed your life??

Tesco Dark Rye bread. I do not feel bloated and have a flatter stomach plus i do not feel hungry between breakfast and lunch.

BroomHandledMouser · 28/04/2021 20:01

Oooo I might try that yoghurt!

@iloveautumn3 I’ve just this exact thing this evening I haven’t tried it before

ssd · 28/04/2021 20:02

Ohhh whats the yogurt called?

Didn’t change my life, but I’d recently discovered coconut yoghurt, and it’s fucking lovely.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 28/04/2021 20:06

Should say, that was a quarter of a large pot. M&S and Tesco do big 450g pots, works out cheaper.

Lidl's new kefir yoghurt with pecans and a tiny drizzle of maple Syrup. Delish and fills me right up.

Youdontknowwhatyoureonabout · 28/04/2021 20:06

The Kvarg lemon cheesecake yogurt is delicious.

Kefir has been life changing for me. It is proved to boost good gut bacteria and I think it has really helped fuel the weight loss.

ChiefBabySniffer · 28/04/2021 20:09

@Youdontknowwhatyoureonabout

Funny you say about the weight loss. I've been doing low carb high fat and bought it for that 10 days ago. Had 100g every morning with nuts for breakfast. I've lost 12lb since then and feel great.

RubyFakeLips · 28/04/2021 20:12

Knew this would be about Skyr, when I told my DH it was from Iceland, he asked why it wasn't frozen Grin

Sour cherry flavour is delicious and I buy the M&S mango version to use in my morning smoothie.

ForwardRanger · 28/04/2021 20:13

I love protein yoghurt too ☺

Another way I do it one tablespoon of plain Greek yoghurt on oatmeal with (frozen) raspberries and blueberries. SOOOO good plus no additives

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/04/2021 20:14

Fat free protein yoghurt has the texture of melted pritt stick.

WingBingo · 28/04/2021 20:15

@enjoyingscience coconut yoghurt is delicious with mint and pineapple.

HighlandCowbag · 28/04/2021 20:16

I bought a yoghurt maker last week and made my own greek yoghurt. Because I left it straining overnight rather than for 3 hours it was a lot dryer and thicker than normal, like a really thick stand your spoon in clotted cream. It was lush on fruit with a bit (nearly typed drizzle then but realised I was being a FoodWanker) of honey and very, very filling.

It even filled the bottomless pit up that is ds (7).

LargeInCharge · 28/04/2021 20:17

Protein yoghurt is a game changer for me too. No more protein shakes for me and I hit my protein goal every day now.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 28/04/2021 20:17

@IHaveBrilloHair

Fat free protein yoghurt has the texture of melted pritt stick.
😂 well I could obviously eat melted Pritt stick as well because I love the texture! I hate yoghurt with bits in with the texture of vomit 🤮

Honestly I don't know how I've got to the grand old age of 51 without knowing about this! I only went to M&S for a sarnie and my life has been transformed!

enjoyingscience · 28/04/2021 20:19

@WingBingo that does sound good. I’ve been going defrosted mango and cherries... love a bit of mint though.

Twenty2 · 28/04/2021 20:21

Fat-free yoghurt (and quark) literally tastes of vomit to me 🤢 Am I alone in this?

fruitpastille · 28/04/2021 20:21

@IhaveBrilloHair this description is so accurate! I like Greek yogurt but skyr and kvarg are really not nice.

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 28/04/2021 20:24

Ooh I think I need a yoghurt maker now @HighlandCowbag. goes off to Google them

ohbigfatno · 28/04/2021 20:25

They sell the Skyr yoghurts in aldi sometimes too!

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 28/04/2021 20:26

I'm a Faye! person myself, but I agree about the absolute awesomeness of coconut yoghurt. I have to buy when on offer as it's fairly pricey, I find.

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/04/2021 20:28

I love yogurt, but it needs the fat left in thanks.
I have to check v carefully too as some have artificial sweeteners which I'm hugely intolerant to.

The Collective make good yoghurt.

ssd · 28/04/2021 20:28

Ill try this thanks op

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/04/2021 20:29

Kvarg has stevia in it.
Evil stuff.
