Are you laughing at me? Seems like everyone is these days ConfusedSad

I'm laughing at the ridiculousness of the mum who's quite happy to hang out in public and then demands everyone gets tested to visit her! It's like my DM who tuts at everyone else whilst ignoring the fact that she's breaking the rules!

Sorry for my paranoia Blush

Don't worry, I wasn't clear what I was laughing at!

smallandimperfectlyformed · 16/04/2021 19:03

Hello all! Booked in for my 2nd jab next week, really hoping that I don't have as awful a reaction this time as I did last time. I am one of the many who was added on to the vulnerable list, in fact I am now classed as CEV which makes me laugh as I didn't find this out until I had had my first jab! Some of the leaflets and stuff that I have had sent would have really scared me had I not been taking part in ordinary activities all the way through this bleeding pandemic...as it is I am just going about life as best as I can! We went to the shops the other day and it was lovely- Primark was the only place that was really busy but still 'safe' and there was a feeling of optimism in my local shopping centre

BogRollBOGOF · 16/04/2021 19:39

I've had more of a school holiday vibe this week rather than feeling lock-downy like last week. It's hardly been rock and roll, but we saw 3 sets of people for walks/ NT around last weekend which is our style anyway. DS2 has had a birthday and we went to his choice of attraction. Some of the DCs' sports are back, so while we've had some lazy days too there's been a few evenings used.

In reality, DS1 needs us to go fairly steady anyway.

Been to our first pub today. 2x 5k walks with a pub lunch is much more chilled than doing it as a straight 10k! The only glitch was needing our big coats for the beer garden which was a bit of a PITA for carrying.

Have to login every time on my phone today, MN is unfriendly at times

MercyBooth · 17/04/2021 01:43

twitter seems to be down

BogRollBOGOF · 17/04/2021 09:30

We've got a quiet day chez Bogroll. Busy one tommow as I'll be running a race and DS has his first football match.
He was a bit tired last night after a 10k / 6mi walk with pib lunch in the middle. Tjen after dinner, DH stupidly asked the DCs if they wanted to do his 5k.walk...and they both did. We did some star gazing and spotted shooting stars. 9+ miles is quite a lot on little legs!

ISaySteadyOn · 17/04/2021 09:57

And big legs too. We have a big day here. DD2's birthday today and a restart of drama classes too.

And there have been no murmurings of school closures that I have heard, thank goodness.

110APiccadilly · 17/04/2021 12:48

I'm back to feeling rather left behind as the rest of the site talks about swimming pools and children's activities. Meanwhile, in Wales, we're just about allowed to go shopping. (Ok, we can see people outside a bit as well.) Still, I'm glad for everyone else who gets a bit more normality.

I'd say, "Roll on the Welsh elections," if I thought anything would change after them.

BogRollBOGOF · 17/04/2021 13:00

Some of it is the luck of how much appetite there is to get going again. A lot of activities/ venues didn't get going when they could after last summer. We got some back which helped at the time, but some areas seem to have struggled more.
All work and no play is a tedious way to be!

I agree, @BogRollBOGOF. DD’s music school won’t go back in person till September. I’m failing miserably to motivate her, it’s quite hard to see the point of playing an orchestral instrument when amateur orchestras may never be allowed again..

LivinLaVidaLoki · 17/04/2021 13:50

There's a thread currently running about lft testing close contacts rather than isolation. Is it me or is that much more preferable to having to keep isolating? At some point isolating close contacts has got to go surely

WouldBeGood · 17/04/2021 16:02

I’d scrap all the testing and isolating now tbh

LivinLaVidaLoki · 17/04/2021 16:32

Same here @WouldBeGood

MercyBooth · 17/04/2021 16:33

A thread of mine got moved from the Coronavirus board to the News board because apparently science has nothing to do with it. Confused

Curlygirl06 · 17/04/2021 17:10

I took my grandson down the local park on Thursday night to go bat- hunting. I'd read that bats swoop round the lake catching insects and drinking from the lake, so we trotted off with food and drinks and a blanket. My goodness, there was lots of them! He was so excited to see them and be out at night in the dark, said it was the best day of his life, bless him.
Down the park again the following day, him and another little boy got chatting and running round the lake together, quite a normal day! Love him.

ISaySteadyOn · 17/04/2021 17:13
Confused
ISaySteadyOn · 17/04/2021 17:24

The Confused was agreement with Mercy in case that wasn't clear.

Taswama · 17/04/2021 17:35

You sound like a lovely grandma @Curlygirl06 .

WouldBeGood · 17/04/2021 18:25

@Curlygirl06 I love that 😊💕

MrsEWeatherwax · 17/04/2021 18:39

When shopping again today, didn’t spend much, just went because I can. How many grannies did I kill. Went past the park that, last week was heaving, I tell you and today was empty. It’s so funny everyone complaining about parks being busy, when there is fuck all else to do. Now they will be complaining about people standing/sitting outside a pub.
I’m supposed to be gardening but I can’t be bothered. Someone else will need to the the hanging baskets, because I’m too lazyBlush

Curlygirl06 · 17/04/2021 18:41

Aww thanks! I do my best. And to top his day off, instead of walking home the short way, we walked through town and looked at all the lights in the shop windows, and people outside the pubs etc. He's never done that before and it was really exciting apparently. Then we went up a shortcut over the field so he could use his head torch, didn't get to bed until about 10! Very exciting day indeed.
Curlygirl06 · 17/04/2021 18:41

Thank you, I must admit I was also very excited about the bats!
