I was at Dd's house recently, she opened her freezer and a I could see was lots of little pink mouse tails.
She has a pet snake so they are for him.
I also once sat eating my lunch in Indonesia whilst watching some guys shoving a cow into the back of a bemo (minibus type thing but with no back doors)

Anyone else?

In Cairo: a turkey running down a street.

In Dubai:

  1. a taxidermied lion in a veterinarian's office and
  2. a veiled woman pulling a goat out of the boot of a taxi.

In London:

  1. a man walking a sheep on a lead
  2. a middle-aged Rastafarian man driving a chariot and
  3. a voodoo doll face-down in a puddle.

I used to live near Stansted Airport and in the 1980s the Space shuttle Enterprise visited, carried piggy-back style on the top of a jumbo jet.
It was doing a world tour.
They made several low circuits around the airport and the shuttle was clearly visible for many miles around.
It actually went directly over our garden and was a truly marvellous sight to see.

Riyadh: my father saw the Flowered Men of Arabia in a market selling greenery.

On my way to work this morning (London) and I saw an elderly man (we are talking 80 years of age +) wearing a short denim skirt and a coconut bra (no coat no tights just that) with stripper heels. If I could burn that image from my mind I would. Not that strange in this day an age I guess but certainly weird to me haha

eatsleepread · 03/04/2021 13:51

A bald man with the tattoo of a fried breakfast on his head.

New Year's Day in an Austrian ski resort and an athletic young Scotsman was skiing downhill very stylishly, dressed in just a kilt.
The twists and turns (and the wind) made the kilt swing to and fro quite energetically ...

Walking through the town centre and watch a guy head butt a pigeon. It took off from the pavement right in front of him. He hit it too - you could see the pigeon move.

Weirdest thing is that his facial expression didn’t change. He just carried on as if nothing happened.

YukoandHiro · 03/04/2021 13:56

I saw a man wearing a snake at a bus stop in Oxford. Not that odd really.

Harryo · 03/04/2021 13:58

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

The three that come to mind...
  • a steam locomotive on the A1 (on the back of a truck)
  • a cat using a zebra crossing. The cars stopped for it.
  • a light aircraft at the petrol station.
I’ve seen “Thomas the Tank Engine” on the back of a lorry on the M6 north.

My DC were besides themselves. Smile

Girl in my hometown walking a fully grown pig as if it was a dog.

Im2sexyforthissite · 03/04/2021 13:59

A man riding a bike late at night in Deptford. He was wearing shoes, a blazer and nothing else!

Was that in Clapham? If so, he's a well-known character.
Hm2020 · 03/04/2021 14:05

Man in Camden market with a wallaby in a baby Bjorn sling. Man sitting outside Costa with a parrot on his shoulder

Flipflopfoodle · 03/04/2021 14:05

Normal suburb in UK, a man struggling to push a darlek up a hill, it kept rolling away from him.

JovialNickname · 03/04/2021 14:13

There is a man that often walks a big yellow ferret on a lead round here

Walking into my student bedroom and finding a very large, very happy looking duck settled onto my bed. Had (somehow ) found its way through my ground floor window from a distant pond.

Cheeseandlobster · 03/04/2021 14:16

In Brighton - man on roller blades going down a big hill with a ferret on his shoulder

In Wales. A dead cow upside down in a bush halfway down a cliff

A man on a train in Yorkshire sitting down to show me a pickled embryo of some animal, I forget which. I was very British and polite so spent 10 minutes nodding and saying " Oh right. I see" as he pointed out all the biological parts to me.

Cheeseandlobster · 03/04/2021 14:17

For me the wanking walrus was my favourite Grin

crazymicrowave123 · 03/04/2021 14:18

@AlfonsoTheTerrible Not in Clapham but near enough haha

Solongtoshort · 03/04/2021 14:19

When in Cyprus years ago, we missed the bus to go back to the town from the beach so we were walking back along a lane a speeding car drives in to a ditch a man gets out and starts running, then two police car’s came whizzing up stopped by the car, 4 police got out started running after him then started shooting at him he shot back, we just carried on walking. It was like we were watching a movie in real life.

Jaxhog · 03/04/2021 14:26

We have a unicyclist up the road from us too.

We have cats who all do strange things, but the strangest was the one who brought me 'gifts'. Not just mice, but tulips, lilies, and many other flowers. Even a small branch once. Quite sweet really. Better than the one who brought in live squirrels, pigeons, and a grass snake. Twice.

It might be the same person - very tall and thin? Long grey hair?

Fyredraca · 03/04/2021 14:37

I was in Bruges once and the literal men in white coats screeched to a halt at the kerb, jumped out of the vehicle and ran into a shop.
They bodily dragged a protesting man out and bundled him into the back and drove off.

crazymicrowave123 · 03/04/2021 14:39

@@AlfonsoTheTerrible omg yes!!!! LOL

Camping on Anglesey years ago - pitched our tent and woke up next morning to find elephants in the next field. The circus had arrived overnight.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 03/04/2021 14:52

@FortunesFavour @toffeebutterpopcorn I used to see them regularly - think they were the Royal Engineers from St John’s Wood barracks. Such a surreal sight. I took a pic on the way to the tube one morning.
