According to my DD, 17. All her mates are ordering them for the summer. I’m struggling to get my head around this news.

They used to be quite toxic and were considered bad for your health as they leached chemicals when hot but maybe they are made from different materials these days. I wouldn't wear personally but people like the look without knowing what they are made from.

Seriously, can you back that up?

Oooh great! I've bought a pair for wearing in the garden/putting the bins out Blush Looks like I'll be able to nip to the shops in them too!

Vintagevixen · 30/03/2021 20:55

I wear my strawberry print ones all the time in summer! Love them.

Gingerkittykat · 30/03/2021 20:58

I've worn out a pair of crocs in the past year but that has been because I've been in the house practically 24/7. They are great because I have some nerve damage in my feet and the knobbly bits inside help with sensation and means I don't slip on shiny surfaces.

TankGirl97 · 30/03/2021 21:01

I live in them in the garden. Wouldn't be seen dead wearing them beyond the garden gate 🤣

LookItsMeAgain · 30/03/2021 21:03

I don't remember there being furry versions before. I am not a fan of these: www.asos.com/crocs/crocs-originals-furry-clogs-in-cream/prd/23515733?colourwayid=60489836&SearchQuery=crocs

If they got wet....dear lord!

abouttogoon · 30/03/2021 21:04

How funny! I'm have just ordered new flip flop crocs. They are the only flip flops I can wear as they don't let me go over the side of the sole, as moulded to keep your feet in place. Love themSmile

Kitkat151 · 30/03/2021 21:05

My 25 year old daughter did the school run in them last week ( coral coloured ) ..... said a few of the mums now wearing them

Igloo71 · 30/03/2021 21:19

Wow, looks like we’ll all be in them by July.... better get ordering! I’ve just remembered how you used to see whole families donning crocs collectively, should I get DH a pair? Can’t imagine he’ll be super keen TBH.

Didn't people keep getting trapped in escalators the first time they were "in".

TheNestedIf · 30/03/2021 21:36

I've been wearing them for years because sadly, I've never managed to look elegant, so I may as well be inelegant and comfortable. At least I might now get as far as "trendy".

Fleamaker123 · 30/03/2021 21:54

Safe in the knowledge that nobody on here knows who I am, I can confess to owning a pair of lilac crocs. In my defence DH picked them up when he got some for the kids. I only wear them in the garden, and putting the bins out. They're a bit like wearing Lego on your feet. Very comfy.

crumpet · 30/03/2021 21:56

Yep, dd18 and a bunch of her friends (male and female) have been buying them recently

Brogues · 30/03/2021 21:56

I was wearing mine to re-grout the patio at the weekend... on trend obviously Wink

Brogues · 30/03/2021 21:57

I’ll let DH know he was accidentally trendy putting the bins out too.

Mumdiva99 · 30/03/2021 22:03

Thanks so much for letting me know!! My daughter (11) lives in them. All the kids have them for the garden. Last year OH bought a pair for the garden. As my eldest has big boy feet I am always borrowing his to go outside. I have now just ordered myself a fetching pink pair....this is the only time ever....I am going to be on trend!!! Lol.

halfpasteleven · 30/03/2021 22:27

Where's best to order them from?
Finally, a comfy shoe that's on trend!

ShontayYouStay · 30/03/2021 22:29

Not in my house they ain't!

Mumdiva99 · 31/03/2021 07:06

@shontayyoustay even Ginny Lemon wore cross in the run way!

megletthesecond · 31/03/2021 07:10

12yr old DD will be trendy then. She wears them because they're comfy. Nice peach pair.

Dustyhedge · 31/03/2021 07:25

I see them as the summer equivalent of wellies. The kids always have a pair by the back door so for us they never went out in the same way wellies never will. I have not got a pair though.

knocke · 31/03/2021 07:31

Isn't just the continued 90s obsession when we used to wear clogs & ugly footwear.

knocke · 31/03/2021 07:36

My mum loves hers & I must admit my young dc have them as they are great for the beach/camping but I won't be donning a pair.
