Lighthearted, give me your unpopular opinions.

I can start;

The musical Hamilton and Star Wars are over rated.

OP posts:
GabsAlot · 29/03/2021 13:56

towie

i live near them its nothing like that (some people copy them) its dreary and crap and we dont all have money

SchrodingersImmigrant · 29/03/2021 13:57

I didn't expect this level of bollocks from you!

😂 it's a green rank thing of dubious texture. I would rather eat a piece of mushroom aka devil's poop than avocado.
Not sorry😂

GreenHairThingy · 29/03/2021 13:58

@ThumbWitchesAbroad

I didn't like Hamilton either.

Terry Pratchett was an amazing author whose work showed great depth of understanding of the human condition, and showed his enormous range of knowledge. Still finding bits now and going "oh THAT's where that bit in Terry Pratchett's book came from!"
I know that critics were often sneerily dismissive of his works because fantasy fiction - but that just makes them snobs. Wink

Terry Pratchett was a genius.

There are moments that have taken my breath away, totally out of the blue. Usually what could be viewed as a throwaway line or gentle musing, but in reality is deep AF.

Of course I can't recall anything specific, but I can remember being taken aback at my response to his stories.

GreenHairThingy · 29/03/2021 13:59

@EvilOnion

The Foo Fighters are shit and DG is NOT attractive in the slightest.
Wash your mouth out!

Dave Grohl is awesome.

whitespotsgreenleaves · 29/03/2021 14:00

Terry Pratchet was great! Thirty years ago I sent him one of his books and asked him to sign it for my boyfriend's birthday and he did and did a little picture too! Nice man!

awaynboilyurheid · 29/03/2021 14:00

The SNP could never run our country, they have no decent economic policies , North Sea oil brought up by American companies will never be enough to keep us all afloat and at one point recently was costing more to bring it up than to actually sell it.

FoxyTheFox · 29/03/2021 14:02

Avocado tastes like you're eating a face mask.

ObvsNC · 29/03/2021 14:03

I really like wind chimes.

The expensive properly tuned wind chimes and not the cheap tinny sounding ones, but I do realise that still makes me incredibly evil.

Sorry. 😔

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 29/03/2021 14:10

Didn’t think wind chimes were a thing except for patchouli soaked woohoo ethereal types

MintyMabel · 29/03/2021 14:10

Anyone hit Bingo yet?

JaneJeffer · 29/03/2021 14:11

"I have anxiety" is overused. The majority of those using it may be super stressed, but they won't have a diagnosed anxiety disorder
So how do they get diagnosed if they're not allowed to say they have anxiety?

OhToBeASeahorse · 29/03/2021 14:13

@MintyMabel steady, we havent started bf/ff, sleep training, Oxbridge, cleaners, P&C parking spaces...

Benjispruce2 · 29/03/2021 14:14

Queen are absolutely shite.
Flavoured gin.Why? If you don’t like the taste of gin, drink something else!

Beautiful3 · 29/03/2021 14:15

Wine is disgusting.
Dairy milk is meh.
Coffee machines are over rated.
Yankee candles are not worth their price.
Hate chocolate flavoured biscuits and cake

Love trifle!
Oven chips taste great when drizzled with olive oil before cooking.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 29/03/2021 14:16

How do they get diagnosed? They don’t
It’s like on mn everyone ex has a narcissist personality disorder. Can’t just be a git. No. It’s pathologised and diagnosed by the armchair psychiatrists

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 29/03/2021 14:16

@GreenHairThingy - yep, agree.

To all halloumi haters - are you eating it raw or fried? It has to be fried to be enjoyed, otherwise it's just squeaky salty rubbery stuff.
Fry it in the pan until nicely toasted and it's tons better!

IntermittentParps · 29/03/2021 14:17

John Lennon was a nasty piece of wife-beating work who made decent enough music in the early days but couldn't maintain his talent once out on his own.

Agree. Yoko and her apartment full of furs is no saint either.

I was laughing during the "Perfect Storm" and "Final Destination". Found the plots and the acting ridiculous The Perfect Storm is based on real events, no?

Benjispruce2 · 29/03/2021 14:17

Griddled halloumi is the food of Gods.

GreenHairThingy · 29/03/2021 14:18

If someone's anxiety is so bad that they need to seek help for it, they don't fit into the category I am describing.
thecatneuterer · 29/03/2021 14:20

@ViciousJackdaw

Clothes from Toast are basically oversized burial shrouds.
Oh that made me laugh. And so true!
SpiderinaWingMirror · 29/03/2021 14:20

Musical theatre
No story ever improved being sung.

WeatherwaxOn · 29/03/2021 14:20

Michael Jackson was boring and couldn't really sing.
Elvis was overrated.
Laurence Olivier was a ham.
E.T is a terrible film.
Hersheys chocolate is rank (may not be too controversial)
Small talk is boring.

Grin I have wind chimes, help keep the foxes away from the hens at night. Not in the least bit ethereal, am patchouli soaked and woohoo though
FoxyTheFox · 29/03/2021 14:22

Anxiety can be situational - e.g., social anxiety - or time limited such as "my anxiety levels are really high lately". Neither of which would usually require a diagnosis or treatment in the same way as ongoing anxiety does but the person saying they have anxiety wouldn't be wrong or attention seeking by saying "I have anxiety" and it doesn't mean their anxiety is any less unpleasant or debilitating.

Marcipex · 29/03/2021 14:23

Noooooo ET is a fantastic film.
