Lighthearted, give me your unpopular opinions.

I can start;

The musical Hamilton and Star Wars are over rated.

The EU has always bullied countries outside it. This is only a surprise in the UK because the UK's intelligentsia are suffering from an advanced case of Stockholm syndrome.

I think carbs are okay (in moderation, like everything else)
I don't believe in cutting food groups.
Coffee is horrible
I think in the vast majority of cases people are overweight because they eat too much and move too little- not for underlying medical reasons.
I find many people to be ridiculously over indulgent of dogs.
I like it when friends put pics of their kids on Facebook - I like seeing how they are developing and changing.
The UK is actually a pretty good place to live, it is not 'going to the dogs'. I've realised this by living in several other countries now.

Pasta is boring stodgy, potatoes are much nicer
Bananas are horrible
Expensive trousers last the same amount of time as cheap ones from Asda
The big light is great.
Most films and tv are boring
Self catering/camping is not a holiday when you have children
Dogs are fine off the lead
All alcohol is horrible, sweets are great

British intellectuals, e.g AC Grayling, Ian McEwan, are second raters, and Americans have more interesting things to say these days.

TaraR2020 · 29/03/2021 02:23

This thread is making me hungry.

Downunderduchess · 29/03/2021 02:29

British people (mumsnetters) are obsessed with judging class, what’s posh, what’s not etc.

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 29/03/2021 02:29

Some of these are shocking. Pasta is boring and stodgy! And coffee is horrible! Shock

I'd rather just stay home with my husband and son than going to see friends or family.

Chocolate fountains are disgusting. Melted chocolate is vile and everyone double dips or sticks their fingers in them.

GreenWheat · 29/03/2021 03:09

Sprouts are quite nice
Art and craft activities are messy and boring and I never encouraged my children to do them, to no ill effect
Wine is overrated

namechangeaga1n · 29/03/2021 04:44

Mayoanise is disgusting and severely limits shop bought lunch choices

GreenLeafTurnip · 29/03/2021 05:06

Tea is awful

Tinkerbell456 · 29/03/2021 05:10

Green leaf turnip, wash your mouth out! With tea!

Ruthietuthie · 29/03/2021 05:13

The only acceptable flavour of hot cross bun is the traditional one. All other varieties (Marks and Spencer's salted caramel oozy chocolate variety and friends) are an abomination.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/03/2021 05:21

People who don’t like dogs are weird.

Abc123dog · 29/03/2021 05:39

Sauvignon blanc is the worst of all the wines

Lille4 · 29/03/2021 05:51

Getting drunk doesn't sound fun at all😂 I don't see the appeal 🤔

supercee · 29/03/2021 06:19

Bonnie Tyler can't sing.

The Radford parents are vile.

GarlicMonkey · 29/03/2021 06:19

Cats are far superior to dogs.

People who walk backwards without looking are dicks.

GreenLeafTurnip · 29/03/2021 06:21

@Tinkerbell456 tea is just milk very watered down. I don't understand the appeal at all. I'm British as well!!

WeMarchOn · 29/03/2021 06:40

Adam Lambert is better than Freddie Mercury 🙈

Alwaysconfuddled · 29/03/2021 06:45

Ice cream on warm desserts is just wrong 🤢

DoormatBob · 29/03/2021 06:58

Sunday dinner is the worst meal of the week

BadMudda · 29/03/2021 07:00

@Abc123dog

Sauvignon blanc is the worst of all the wines
In your opinion

It’s not though, it’s water and milk and tea.
