@Providora

My all time favourite, from an Australian site similar to this one, was from a woman whose child was Lack Toast And Tolerant.

It's definitely acceptable as a superlative adjective but, yes, it sounds a bit clunky.

DotBall · 15/03/2021 22:01

From someone about a famous singer called Teen Eterna.

Redsquirrel5 · 15/03/2021 22:01

We had a neighbour in Scotland who informed us her husband was laying her a new paysheo and she used to 🧶 knit using patrons. There were a couple of others I have forgotten. She was a great neighbour but she did make us laugh sometimes.

Some of these are hilarious 😂

Igot99problemsmyneighbourisone · 15/03/2021 22:04

DM the other day told me she'd sent a billydoo to all her friends when she moved to give them her new address. I asked what she meant as I'd never heard of it. Eventually worked out she meant a billet doux, which obvs is quite a different kind of letter!

BoffinMum · 15/03/2021 22:05

Ah, reminds me of my favourite Radio 4 programme, Cross Incontinence.

Whattheduck · 15/03/2021 22:07

Clairey, so some years back I was sitting in the Cambridge University Grad Pad (postgraduate social centre) just after a Grads cafe refit, with a mum friend, we both worked at the university and were hanging out with our new babies. She is officially very clever indeed and had a very posh brainy job. She said, "It's great since they have done this place up. You can even get punanis!" I literally snorted Fair Trade cappuccino up my nose.

BoffinMum · 15/03/2021 22:09

(I just realise that was probably the MOST MUMSNET POST EVER). Forgive me, people.
@littlepattilou - they've started a fred in Site Stuff.
Thanks iklboo. I have seen that thread now .. I bet the OP, and the 4 or 5 people supporting her are disappointed that this thread is still here. Grin

Absolutely bloody ridiculous to get offended by this thread. How on earth do people function in real life, if they are THAT precious? Confused

This thread is clearly just a light-hearted bit of fun. I know a couple of people like the mood-hoovers in that sitestuff thread, and they are dismal to the extreme, hard work, and high maintenance, and the sort of person you'd walk an extra mile to avoid bumping into. Awful people who just love to bash and slate anything 'fun' and take offence at EVERYTHING. I loathe this kind of person.

Funny how they are soooooooooo offended by this thread, and yet they've been looking ALL THE WAY through it, as they keep referencing posts here.

If they're so OFFENDED, then hide the thread. Absolutely pathetic. Hmm

waves at the professionally offended! 👋

BoffinMum · 15/03/2021 22:18

Well quite, Pattilou [applause]

ServeTheServants · 15/03/2021 22:19

A male friend received a text message from another guy which opened with “Alright shun, how’s it going?”...he obviously meant “son” 😂

Love Michael Wave.

Clunt · 15/03/2021 22:33

How about my very Glaswegian parents having a meal in a posh restaurant from the table de hooty menu 😂😂

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 15/03/2021 22:34

I'm not 'professionally offended' - what an utterly stupid term, it makes no sense at all? I've said my piece straight up, pattilou. Giggle away with your chums, I couldn't care less. I generally post on oh-so-funny SPaG threads in support of the posters being picked on for their errors.

There are some really funny posts on this thread, but there are others that aren't, they're derogatory. And then there are posters that seemingly can't tell the difference; that's a bit sad really in an adult.

Post what you like, I haven't reported the thread, it's a bit eye-opening though.
