I'll be honest here, as a child I thought it was walldrobe! I wrote it like that and argued my point that I thought that because 'drobe' was maybe an old fashioned word for cupboard and they're usually against a wall! Voila - Walldrobe! I think a lot of people spell things as they say them though, most people I know say 'chest 'a' draws' they don't pronounce the draw-ers part specifically. And the chest 'a' bit could be chester rather than chest of if you didn't know the actual language behind it.
