Inspired by a thread about bad singers. In your opinion, which singers have the best voices? I'll vote:

Michael Jackson
Stevie Wonder
James Morrison (underrated)
Christina Aguilera
Celion Dion
Mariah Carey
Whitney Houston
Joss Stone

George Michael was astonishing..such control. His performance of Somebody To Love at the FM tribute was flawless.

This is my all time favourite piece of live music footage. In the entire world. I'm glad to see George Michael mentioned so many times on here.

It's interesting to get an idea of peoples perspective though. Talking about 'wow' singers I would not put Britney, BTS and the like anywhere near a wow list!!

And the person who said Paul McCartney Sad not even a particularly good vocalist, let alone 'wow'

I don’t like her music but Ariana Grande has an incredible voice. Her range is really impressive.

I am showing my age and range here. Old head and young heart Grin

I was once staying in a hotel in Luxembourg in the room next to the suite in which one of the following was staying. I sat on my bed and listened to them practice one summer evening and my goodness it was awesome.

NoMackerelInSwindon · 05/03/2021 19:38

Mel C

To gauge how good she is google the Spice Girls with Pavarotti. It’s on You Tube. Worth a watch because he was the place marker and you can really rank the Spice Girls individual abilities and personal gravitas on that video. The body language says all.

dementedma · 05/03/2021 19:53

Nat King Cole
Paul Simon, best diction ever. Every word crisp

Spillanelle · 05/03/2021 19:54

I saw Paolo Nutini a few years ago at Glastonbury and was just mesmerised by how beautiful and soulful his voice is. Totally underrated.

In terms of powerful voice though it’s got to be Beyoncé.

AgentCooper · 05/03/2021 19:55

Billy Mackenzie who was in the Associates in the 80s, absolutely ridiculous voice. He did a cover of Roy Orbison’s It’s Over which is just mind blowing.

Jacques Brel, especially doing Ne Me Quitte Pas. There is so, so much emotion in his voice in that song that you almost feel intrusive listening to it.

Lua · 05/03/2021 19:55

I know it sounds insane but... Mily Cyrus.
Her covers are amazing and of such a range that it is incredible!
