What's your recurring dream?

Was reading another post and a few people said they regularly dream that they find a new room in their house so thought I'd ask what's your recurring dream and if you have looked into the meaning?

I used to dream about water but not in a nice calm way it was always massively choppy or huge tidal waves 🤷‍♀️

My more recent one (over the last few years) is that I've killed someone, I never kill them in my dream they are already dead but I definitely did it and I'm in a massive panic that I'm going to get caught! I've been driving with them wrapped up in carpet on my front seat or I've hidden them in the loft, it's absolutely terrifying!! Anyone else want to make me feel like I'm not an actual psychopath?!

I dream that i cant walk properly, like i literally cant put one foot in front of the other and have to do a weird skip (and i think that people will be looking at me and judging!) Have dreamed it weekly ever since I was young, its bizarre I get this dream or a variation of it all the time too! It's really frustrating during the dream isn't it.

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 22/02/2021 22:42

Just remembered another one too. I always seem to dream about going for a wee but when I look down I've wee'd all over the floor even when I've sat on the toilet properly and it isn't just a tiny bit it's loads and loads and there's never any toilet roll for me to clean it up

I've had sooooo many of these too but a recent recurring one is that I'm on holiday and it's the last day before going home and I still haven't been to the beach for the day. Then the water is hugely massively choppy.....

JustDavesWife · 22/02/2021 22:52

@Northernshepherd

It feels good to know there are other dream murderers.
It really does, I thought I was the only one!!

@fluffythedragonslayer I have the same dream about toilets as well. The toilet is broken or full of poo. The door is broken and I'm worried about being seen going to the loo.
I'd be interested in hearing other people's interpretation of this dream.

I have a number of recurring dreams. One involves all my teeth start crumbling and wobbling one by one. I'm desperately trying to get to a dentist but can't.
Another involves me driving, I am pressing the brake pedal but nothing is happening and I'm panicking and pressing harder and harder.
the third involves my pet rabbit as a child. In the dream I suddenly remember that I have this pet rabbit that is in it's hutch in the garden and seemingly I've forgotten about it and I'm panicking and I get to the hutch and the hutch is really dirty and it has no food but as I'm approaching the hutch I am so distressed and don't know what I am going to find. I always wake up in a panic. I think this is related to some kind of guilt as a child and can only think it relates to us going on holiday and my friend was coming round daily to care for the rabbit, but it became unwell and had to be put to sleep when we got back. maybe I feel some guilt subconsciously. It was the most pampered rabbit and never neglected !

I have a recurring dream where can't walk..it's like my legs are in treacle and I have to drag them. It's horrible. Usually something is chasing me to add to the horror!

Mmmmdanone · 22/02/2021 22:57

Funnily enough I dreamt I had a new room in my house the other week, like in your op. I was so disappointed when I woke up🤔

7catsandcounting · 22/02/2021 22:57

When I dream, I go to what I call "my planet". It's like Earth, but a different version. It's the size of a small city and I know my way around. I don't have complète control over where I end up, but I know where my house is, the airport, castle, river, hôtels, théâtre, Chinese restaurant (!). I know where my friends live. It has it's own undergroud system. My DD is with me. But I'm single. Not all my friends are there. It's very odd. This has only been the case for a couple of years. I can picture it all exactly when I'm awake, but I've never been there in real life. Every night is an adventure and sometimes the same storylines play out. There are a few "dream people" who I don't know irl, but know in the dream - a skinny Polish guy in a wheelchair and a short, rough n'ready chef are two regulars. I have a couple of flats I rent out. I know these flats like the back of my hand, but they don't really exist. Is it like this for other people? Full-on détail you can go back to over and over again?

@7catsandcounting that sounds amazing - you just have an extremely vivid imagination! I can’t say I dream like that.

VampireTheBuffetSlayer · 22/02/2021 23:00

I need the toilet but the only one available is either really dirty or, more commonly, without a door / cubicle, just in the middle of a busy room etc.

I see I'm not the only one to recognise this dream! I also have to hunt to find the toilet in the first place. I wonder what it means?

Yy to the dragging legs too.

JustDavesWife · 22/02/2021 23:00

@DartmoorChef I'm sorry the post made you cry, I hope you're ok Thanks

Toilet dreams tend to represent secrets, so a dirty toilet represents a secret you should really try get out in the open.

JustDavesWife · 22/02/2021 23:03

Just remembered another one I had 5 or 6 times a few years ago but not since.

I dreamt my tongue had fallen out but I was too scared to tell anyone so I just kept it in my mouth and couldn't/wouldn't speak to anyone! Scary, weird and disgusting all at the same time!

@Gcnq thank you for your reply that's really interesting.

Hair, string, or thread caught in my mouth. When I try to pull it out, it is in various stages of entanglement within my throat or deeper in my body. Sometimes, I pull parts of me out of my mouth Hmm.

I have had this dream several times a week, for the last 20 years or so. It is quite horrid really.

Lellochip · 22/02/2021 23:08

I just have cliché repeat dreams, the dirty/overly public toilet one (why does no one else in the dream seem to care?!) and the crumbling teeth one. Everytime I have that one there's always the feeling of 'here we go again' and I know that I'm going to end up spitting out bits of my teeth, but never realise it's a dream. The relief every time I wake up... 😅

Jaffajam · 22/02/2021 23:10

I am too old for more kids and made peace with that a long time ago. However I keep dreaming I am pregnant. I loved my pregnancy, felt amazing and my DC is the most awesome child. I don't know if my subconscious is still dreaming of more babies! I dreamt the other night I was having a boy and I put my hands on my tummy and could feel and see him kicking. It was so vivid!

lydia2021 · 22/02/2021 23:19

I dream of gold in my hand, travelling, but dont know where. Going to toilet with no doors and people watching me have a wee. Crowds of people, all family in some way, all trying to get into the picture photographer is taking . Otherwise, very random stuff.

AledsiPad · 22/02/2021 23:31

Being naked in public Confused

That I’ve cheated on my husband. Blush (NEVER have!)

LoveFall · 22/02/2021 23:33

I have long complicated dreams about having lost my car somewhere and walking for miles trying to find it. Also going in to my office, and finding it changed completely and no one recognizes me.

AledsiPad · 22/02/2021 23:34

Oh! And also, that something scary is about to happen to me (this changes) and I can’t scream. I open my mouth and I’m so scared that no sound comes out. Then I wake up with a jump before the scary thing properly begins.

Treehops · 23/02/2021 00:12

Also a dream murderer. Often I've forgotten for years and then remember as the garden of my old house is being dug up. I see them as guilt dreams, or shame dreams. People are going to find out the truth, so to speak. The bodies are always of friends, I once had one where I put a friend in a skip and was distressed because I lost his lower leg - he'd broken his leg, properly snapped it, in real life around that time, so that was kinda funny.
