I don't go often because it is further up the road than the mini Tesco or Sainsburys (opposite each other) but then I am a lazy Cow! Plus there is always a queue.

I do like their spinach mornay. I also like their mature Cheddar grade 6 low fat but can't get it at my local.

I sometimes go when the usual stuff at Sainsbury's and Tesco get boring. Then I would go to a bigger branch.

What flavour Hot cross buns? I found Rum and Raisin ones in there today, my Dad loves rum and raisin anything so I've given them yo him and asked for the verdict. The toffee ones are going to take some beating.

We buy beer (bottled ales) as they have a great selection, and usually loads are on offer, so not as expensive as you'd think.

@thethoughtfox

3 for 10 range of fresh fish and meat. It includes salmon fillets and nice mince and amazing meatballs stuffed with cheese in a roasted tomato sauce that is a family weekly favourite.

@thethoughtfox are these the meatballs you’re talking about? www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/easy-to-cook-mozzarella-stuffed-pork-meatballs/466668-578517-578518

If so, they look right up my alley and I’ll add them to my cart.

JingsMahBucket Those are the meatballs. I have 5 packets in my freezer. We have them with the fresh linguine.

We live in Waitroseland, head office and about 10 branches within 10 miles sort of place, plus is my nearest supermarket with free parking.

So I stock up on regular store cupboard items ONLY when on offer eg last week we had Kenco pouches of instant coffee, a couple of weeks before PG tips in the compostable tea bags - I got boxes of 240 for less than the £3 Aldi charge. If you know what regular items you like these ALWAYS come up every 3 months or so. I only buy them when on offer.
We like their own brand baked beans, chopped or tinned tomato, dried pasta is good but I also like fresh
Their butter tastes nicer, we also like their frozen cauli/broccoli/sliced carrot and beans/pea mixes.
For dessert we sometimes like a trifle, they are good.
All their No1 ice creams are great I love the Columbian coffee one.
Their bags of grated cheese are not a bad price vs labour involved grating.
Own brand for colour washing powder is good and not itchy like Fairy.
Their liquid for woolens is very good too.
Vintage organic cider is another favourite.
Pizza - the stonebaked one with onions and Feta cheese is our favourite.
And their milk stays fresh for 2 + days after best before date.

Jealous @ariela. I'm in the northeast, so waitrose are spsrse. Not been to my nearest since September. We do get deliveries here, but from about 40 miles away. Our driver has often travelled through much of the northeast and Cumbria before getting to us.

Their curries are a family favourite here, much cheaper and better quality than a takeaway! (Obvs depending on what’s local to you)
And their no 1 milk chocolate is amazing!
DH has a serious chocolate fro-yo addiction now too!
Lovely shop, makes food shopping almost a pleasure 😊

Their frites are the best. In a box in the chilled section. Far better than frozen.

Their own granolas are excellent too and big bags and value for money.
The free coffee pre covid (miss that so much!)
Chocolate eclairs
Ripe and ready nectarines in summer
the only place I can get cavolo nero for a very specific pasta dish I make
the fresh flowers are lovely and last well. The £3 bunches of roses and tulips brighten up my kitchen!

I love this thread!!!

Inspired by another Waitrose thread on here our regulars are now:

  • aubergine and feta burgers
  • brown basmati, red carmague and wild rice
  • Finnebrogue ham (nitrite free - that Ocado said would stay and then they stopped stocking it, stupid Ocado)
  • Naked Burgers
  • lemon and herb salmon mini burgers
  • pea and asparagus risotto
  • Keralan butternut squash curry

Means I can do fast food dinners without feeling massively guilty.
