I mainly divide my purchases between Waitrose and Morrisons, our two local supermarkets. I find most fruit and veg cheaper and better in Morrison's but strawberries, grapes and avocados always Waitrose. If I buy a prepared meal, fish Waitrose. Meat wherever looks best. I love their chunky Haddock and cod in the grey box, fab, mini salmon burgers, all the chicken in the ready to cook range.
If I could only go to one supermarket it would be Waitrose and because they have some great offers, overall I don't find it expensive.

Sundried tomato and Parmesan spatchcock chicken in the foil tray
Cheese and onion pastry twists from the bakery
Caeser chicken wrap for Mr Bits (his very favourite wrap in the world)
Pre-grated Gruyere cheese
Cherries

Mini French macarons. (Not sure if they still do them. I've avoided looking because I inhale them!)

Every year I buy their Christmas cake ingredients box - all you add is the fresh bits like butter. Every other ingredient is weighed out. I know it's more expensive than buying loose ingredients but it saves so much time and as we don't have much cake normally I'm not left with half packets of spice, glacé cherries etc cluttering up the cupboards, which I wouldn't use so actually the box is probably not much more expensive.

BolloxtoGender · 28/01/2021 17:59

The fish counter!

BashfulClam · 28/01/2021 18:35

My husband loves one of the pâtés. He says it’s restaurant quality.

I got one of those after Christmas one year for something ridiculous like 99p. Happy days.

I like their essential tonic water in cans, microwave pilau rice and smoked hummus.

Sushi from the counter if there is a sushi daily instore.

Most of the No 1 range, especially the Greek yoghurt and the Chocolate, frozen meals - beef in Chianti and Keralan seafood curry are excellent, sourdough, free range sausages
Tony's Chocolonely
Hot cross buns
Rapeseed oil from Leckford (their own farm)
Own brand champagne and English sparkling wine has won awards

Defiantly41 · 28/01/2021 19:00

Oh and frozen prawn burgers (Big & Juicy brand), they're like the good stuff out of a Chinese prawn toast in a massive burger shape

kerkyra · 28/01/2021 19:01

The aubergine, mozzarella and tomato ravioli( made by soli?). I fry up some mushrooms and pour on top with some parmesan and its gorgeous.
Two packs for five pounds so quite reasonable.
A yum yum goes down well too.

Onedropbeat · 28/01/2021 19:02

My whole weekly shop but the tests I enjoy from there the most are

Adriatic marinated anchovies
Saucisson sec infused with truffle
Garlic mussels
Nduja paste in a jar
Chocolate and hazelnut chunky cookies
Their own brand salt and vinegar crisps are better than kettle chips

GeidiPrimes · 28/01/2021 19:04

Just remembered another thing - Cartmels sticky toffee pudding with creme fraiche, and yeah, it does seem to be much smoother from there. M&S collection not bad either. I hate it when it's grainy.

And from their ready to cook range, steak Diane.

GeidiPrimes · 28/01/2021 19:08

Goats cheese and beetroot is nice from Soli too kerkyra The raviolis are a lovely deep shade of pink from the beetroot. Nice with parmesan and white truffle cream.

seepingweeping · 28/01/2021 19:18

Their coleslaw is lovely as is their potato salad

They do a mustard and dill sauce and it's just delicious

cashmere toilet roll

Sticky toffee pudding

Their range of dairy free stuff

BonnesVacances · 28/01/2021 19:20

Hi juice squash - no artificial sweeteners

Frozen chopped herbs etc - basil, parsley, coriander, garlic, shallots.

pontiouspilates · 28/01/2021 19:23

If your Waitrose has a sushi counter, their freshly made sushi is outstanding.

Schittme · 28/01/2021 19:26

The chocolate orange hot cross buns are back this year, I can confirm!

peaceanddove · 28/01/2021 19:27

All The Method cleaning products.
The pink grapefruit squash.
Their Pink Lady apples are the best I've ever tried.

sn0wdr0p4 · 28/01/2021 19:28

President butter and almond croissants

raspberryk · 28/01/2021 19:28

Dry aged steak, preferably rib eye but sirloin is good too- from the meat counter.
Fish.
Everything.
Love Waitrose, miss my partnership discount!

Lochroy · 28/01/2021 19:31

Rosti

Premiumtube · 28/01/2021 19:35

Always for treats:

Adriatic marinated anchovies
Crosta & Mollica breadsticks, snacks and wraps
Valdeviso gran reserva wine
Rose harissa paste
Frozen croissants and pain au chocolate

Yum! (esp the anchovies with a glass of white wine in the summer)

cungryhow · 28/01/2021 19:36

Pecan yum yums. Alcohol.

GeidiPrimes · 28/01/2021 19:38

The chocolate orange hot cross buns are back this year, I can confirm! Well that's made me very happy Smile

Jijithecat · 28/01/2021 19:38

Pork shoulder with spiced date sauce Mozzarella stuffed meatballs

ServeTheServants · 28/01/2021 19:40

Their essential frozen sweetcorn, petit pois and skinny fries are better than other supermarket equivalents.

It’s the only place I can find raclette cheese.

Their desserts are beautiful (especially the danish fruit tart and the treacle tart).
