Getting pregnant after vasectomy doesn't really happen to people, right?

Snip was years ago. Like 8 years.

Am a week late. Cramps and sore boobs for 7 days now but no bloody AF.
Am starting to get concerned Hmm but it's just one of those stories from friends of friends isn't it??

I was the same this month. My period was 22 days late. I did test at 18 days and it came back negative thank goodness! H had the snip 3 years ago and after 4 children I was terrified at the prospect of another one.

Hope you get hold of a test soon to put your mind at rest.

lovablequalities · 23/01/2021 09:21

I posted pretty much exactly this last week!

My period was 14 days late. Wtf! The only times I've been longer than a day or two late is the times I've been pregnant. I did two pregnancy tests in that fortnight and both were negative thank goodness.

It's probably just late.

Hollywhiskey · 23/01/2021 10:46

I can't believe how mean some people are! Just because you want an outcome! It's someone's actual life!
OP, my period was once an entire month late for no reason at all and it was totally fine. I'm normally regular as clockwork. It was just one of those things. I hope you get a test and it puts your mind at rest. Testing a day or two later isn't going to make any difference to the outcome anyway.

Pink smear could be implantation bleeding OP, happened to me a couple of times.

MadeForThis · 23/01/2021 10:54

Statistically it's much more likely to be a late period.

RandomMess · 23/01/2021 10:58

I hope it's negative!!

MrsSmith2021 · 23/01/2021 11:04

I was 8 days late once. That was stressful. Good luck OP.

AlternativePerspective · 23/01/2021 11:13

To the people giving the OP a hard time it’s worth remembering that A, this isn’t something the OP is wanting to know necessarily and B, it’s still highly unlikely that she is pregnant, no matter how much posters on this thread are telling her she must be.

OP, when I was TTC I I skipped a period and had all the (what I thought were) pregnancy symptoms. Nausea/sore boobs etc etc etc. I did several tests and they were all negative. Went to the GP and she said that sometimes it happens that way but that she was certain I was pregnant. Did a blood test, came back negative.

MN’ers on here told me that I was almost certainly pregnant because it happens all the time.

Almost to the day a month later I got my period.

It happens that way sometimes. As much as posters will tell you you must be pregnant, that with symptoms it’s a certainty and you have to test now to prove them right, it’s also not uncommon to skip a period for no apparent reason, even through stress for instance, which can be caused by e.g. oh, I don’t know, having to home school 4 kids.

Period symptoms are incredibly like pregnancy symptoms, sore boobs etc, bloating, and sometimes even if you skip a period your body will still release the correct hormones so you will get the symptoms.

Ignore the posters demanding you test now.

Your DH has had a vasectomy, while anything is possible the chances of you being pregnant 8 years on are vanishingly rare.

No need for Amazon. Here you go. Next day delivery. Doesn't really need hundreds of posts, does it?

Period started. Glad I didn't waste money on a test Grin

OP posts:
ChristmasFluff · 23/01/2021 14:32

Yeah, why waste money on a test when you can waste time on MN

LMNOPEE · 23/01/2021 14:45

How did I waste time? I asked a question I waited for a result naturally. I was going to test but didn't manage to get one before my period came.

But somehow that isn't entertaining enough for strangers on the I ternet so I should never have voiced my concerns?

Grow up. This isn't Eastenders.

PolytheneHam · 23/01/2021 15:28

No idea why people are so nasty.

Glad you got the result you wanted, OP.

midnightstar66 · 23/01/2021 15:34

Phew op! 😅. I'm surprised you even came back to update after some of the replies. If people think it's wasted their time they should have just not commented. I guess they'd only have been happy with a worst case scenario as that would be more exciting for them!

This has been withdrawn at OP's request.

zzizzer · 23/01/2021 15:42

It might be a good idea if your dh gets his sperm tested again anyway?

I only say this because the pink bleed could have been implantation, followed by an early mc. I had it one time when it turned into an ectopic (which I wouldn't have properly realised if I hadn't been ttc and obsessing over every detail.).

It could also help set your mind at ease in case this happens again?

legalseagull · 23/01/2021 15:45

God there's some right dicks on this thread. Ignore them OP. People are bored

relaxtakeiteasyeatcheese · 23/01/2021 15:47

Almost impossible .

BaronessEllaSaturday · 23/01/2021 15:54

Glad you're not. It is very very rare to happen (she says listening to such an event running around outside)

AlternativePerspective · 23/01/2021 16:02

Yeah, why waste money on a test when you can waste time on MN and you’re here because.....?

OP, I guarantee that if you’d done a pregnancy test and it had come back negative the same people would be telling you that it was a false negative and that you’re probably still pregnant.

And we already have one suggesting that maybe it was a miscarriage. For fuck’s sake do people not realise that the man has had a vasectomy? The OP wasn’t pregnant....

But only on MN does every other person have an “accidental” pregnancy and a contraceptive “failure” Even though 99% of contraceptive failures are actually down to human error....

zzizzer · 23/01/2021 16:08

Like I said, the pink bleeding was the thing that made me suggest that, not a late period. I had so many mcs where that happened.

WalrusWife · 23/01/2021 16:26

It might be an implantation bleed.

MacDuffsMuff · 23/01/2021 16:32

This is the most bizarre thread. I honestly don't get the nasty comments to the OP, what the hell is wrong with some of you? It's OK not to be a complete cunt to someone you know.

Glad you got the result you were after OP.l, I've no idea why anyone has a problem with your posts.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 23/01/2021 18:42

Me neither, @MacDuffsMuff.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 23/01/2021 20:43

Good news OP. Bet you are very relieved
