I am looking for new or old seriel killer drama to watch. My partner thinks I have seen every one going. I don't fancy one with subtitles but have watched some in the past. ( hurts my eyes at the mo) also I prefer ones that are over a few episodes. I dislike super natural dramas. Just watched Equinox and it annoyed me.

Are there any hidden gems I have missed? Off hand I have watched the following?

Chalet
Cardinal
Absentia
Inspector montelbano
Innocent
The killing
Guilt
Marcella
Blue murder
The missing
The fall
Vera
Dark forest
Blood and water
Rush
Shetland
The alienist
Bordertown
The dark
La mante
Bosch

Baptiste
The missing
The bay
Cheat
The widow
Ultra violet
Carlo and mark
Quicksand
The victim
Spiral
The shield
Beecham house
Foyles war
Maigret
Hinterland you
Spiral
Keeping faith
What remains
Osmosis
Crimson rivers
Instinct
Sharp objects
Mentalist
Mindhunter
Justified
Follow the monkey

Confession
Dead water fell
Hidden
Blood
Silent witness
Wire in the blood
Luther
Trial and retribution
All harlen coben remakes

@NatashaAlianovaRomanova

If you're ok with subtitles or speak fluent Flemish I highly recommend Code 37 - more sex crimes than serial killer but very good
Thanks. I have just watched Spiral. I don't mind them but taking a break for a bit.

I really fancy Red Riding but can't find it anywhere.

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 12/01/2021 20:55

Red Riding might be on All4

Oooo new Marcella is on soon.

The Wire is absolutely worth persevering with. I’m currently rewatching for first time in 10 years and it really is incredible. Omar is possibly my favourite character ever.

He's one of the best tv characters there has ever been.
TheDaydreamBelievers · 12/01/2021 22:18

The Sinner
Hannibal?

Barefootinthecarpark · 12/01/2021 22:30

‘Unbelievable’ on Netflix is such a good series. Truly, one of the best crime dramas I have seen.

SinkGirl · 12/01/2021 22:43

I do love Omar.

Was going to recommend The Shield OP as I always do, but see it’s already on your list.

In a very different vein (very black comedy about a hired assassin turned wannabe actor), I can’t recommend Barry enough - best series I’ve seen in years. HBO though so not readily available on Prime / Netflix. I cannot wait for another series.

iloveroastpotatoes · 12/01/2021 22:52

Des. Superbly played by David Tenant and very chilling.
Strike. Based on the books by JK Rowling and I thoroughly enjoyed binge watching them at the weekend.

Myal · 12/01/2021 23:03

Really surprised Line of Duty isn't in your list but its inspired me....thank you!

LoveFall · 12/01/2021 23:05

Another vote for Unbelievable on Netflix. Very well done, and with a focus on women victims and police. Highly recommend.

WiseOwlRelaxing · 12/01/2021 23:11

Oh I started to watch the trial on netflix a while ago and stopped because at that point I hadn't the energy for subtitles (it's italian).

What do you think of switching the audio from the native language to English when that option is available? I find it saps the life out of the show

Whoever does the english subtitles just blandly reads them out with no acting. That's why even if you don't speak a word of Norwegian or Flemish you get the feeeel better if you can concentrate and listen and read the subtitles.

You have to be in the right mood though. After a long hard day of spreadsheets, maybe you just want to sip wine and listen. Not concentrate like your life depends on it!

A few people have mentioned Happy Valley, but I have to back them up. It is incredibly good-certain scenes have really stayed with me. Sarah Lancashire is absolutely fabulous in it

rollonnovember · 12/01/2021 23:14

100% recommend the Tunnel if you haven't seen it, there are some subtitles but only occasionally and the majority of it is in English.

Scautish · 12/01/2021 23:14

Another one; Gomorrah (the series rather than film). It’s incredible but absolutely brutal. Hamsters in Naples.

Labobo · 12/01/2021 23:18

Not exactly a police procedural Grin but have you seen Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul? Hours and hours of brilliant TV.

If you like Morse and /or Lewis, then Endeavour is good fun.

Labobo · 12/01/2021 23:19

I agree that Happy Valley is brilliant. One of the best ever cop dramas.

WiseOwlRelaxing · 12/01/2021 23:19

oh wow, that korean drama stranger that somebody recommended, there's an option to choose spanish audio!

Ok this I can cope with.

AngelonTopoftheTree · 12/01/2021 23:26

Didn't see it recommended yet but Broadchurch is fantastic!

EraOfTheGrey · 12/01/2021 23:30

I Am the Night with Chris Pine, Its about the Black Dahlia murder.

BlueThistles · 13/01/2021 04:30

brilliant thread 🎉

Googlebrained · 13/01/2021 04:40

Another one for Unbelievable and also Strike. Both really good but in completely different ways.

gerispringer · 13/01/2021 05:00
