I am looking for new or old seriel killer drama to watch. My partner thinks I have seen every one going. I don't fancy one with subtitles but have watched some in the past. ( hurts my eyes at the mo) also I prefer ones that are over a few episodes. I dislike super natural dramas. Just watched Equinox and it annoyed me.

Are there any hidden gems I have missed? Off hand I have watched the following?

Chalet
Cardinal
Absentia
Inspector montelbano
Innocent
The killing
Guilt
Marcella
Blue murder
The missing
The fall
Vera
Dark forest
Blood and water
Rush
Shetland
The alienist
Bordertown
The dark
La mante
Bosch

Baptiste
The missing
The bay
Cheat
The widow
Ultra violet
Carlo and mark
Quicksand
The victim
Spiral
The shield
Beecham house
Foyles war
Maigret
Hinterland you
Spiral
Keeping faith
What remains
Osmosis
Crimson rivers
Instinct
Sharp objects
Mentalist
Mindhunter
Justified
Follow the monkey

Confession
Dead water fell
Hidden
Blood
Silent witness
Wire in the blood
Luther
Trial and retribution
All harlen coben remakes

Has anyone said Hannibal? Sexiest serial killer ever though. He could eat me any day.

@hermionieweasley

The Jinx was fantastic
Possibly the best documentary I’ve ever seen. Incredible.

Deadwind- Finnish. The Twelve, 13 commandments, Undercover - Belgian

MrsMiaWallis · 12/01/2021 17:32

The original Swedish Wallanders are really good and a couple are quite nasty.

Liked that too. Honestly it's shocking. I didn't realise I had watched so much.

I’d echo Criminal Minds, and add Blacklist, Line of Duty is essential viewing as is The Fall.

Loved them all but we went off black list after 2 seasons not sure why.

@MrsMiaWallis tell me your favourite k drama and I'll have another try. With the sound down a bit quieter.

Ok, so The Wire...

I was very excited to find it on Sky Atlantic the other night starting S1 E1 but my God, I was so disappointed.

Yes, I've only watched one episode but it must get better? Everyone raves about it!

I think the problem is that I started The Bridge over Christmas (finished series 1) which was great from the beginning. Do I waste time with the Wire or crack on with The Bridge?

The first episode is the hardest, it was created that way, to make it feel more real, as though you're jumping into a situation, you don't know who anyone is, how the relate to each other, you can only understand every other word. But it's definitely worth persevering. By ep 4 you'll be hooked.

Lots of Walter Presents on All 4.
The Other Mother
Beau Sejour
Just one Look.
Save Me
Safe.

Can't see Line of Duty on your list ?

I have seen line of duty forgot to add it. Like the WP dramas. Just don't fancy subtitles at the mo. I may have it a go though as loads are so much bett than UK dramas.

I think I watched Red Riding on All 4 but if not on there, maybe YouTube.

I've just remembered Agatha Raisin (but more lighthearted but still good) and Band of Gold.

VienneseWhirligig · 12/01/2021 17:50

And (I watch a lot of this stuff too, can you tell?) the Barbara Vine mysteries. They were originally on BBC but not sure if they are still available online. I always try YouTube if I can't find stuff elsewhere.

Oh yeah truth be told on Apple TV is v.good

Covine · 12/01/2021 17:51

Have you seen The Dublin Murders?

It is very atmospheric, good dialogue, some tropes we've all seen before but the last two episodes are superb. Really very good telly.

Oh, and River, from ages ago, just the one standalone series. Really strange and unsettling premise and the two lead actors are outstanding - Stellen Skarsgaard (sp?) and Nicola wossname from that Suits drama about divorce lawyers. (River is not about divorce or lawyers ... )

@StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff

Unbelievable on Netflix. It’s amazing. It’s got Toni Collette in it and I’m always amazed more people haven’t watched it!
I second this. Utterly gutted when I finished it, and there's only one season
