When did your late walker walk

Hi,

DD is in no hurry to walk, shes 15months and is still in no hurry to walk independently. She'll walk holding my finger and on the sofa, she can stand up and dance unaided. But she will only sometimes take a step and then fall over.

Just wondered when other late walkers started walking? DS was walking before his first birthday so I assumed she would be the same

19 months for DS1 - he's 4 now and still very cautious, so likes to perfect each skill before moving onto the next.

17 months for DS2, who was a super-speedy bum shuffler before that.

18m, he didn’t crawl either, he bum shuffled. He’s been a bit slow to master jumping, hopping etc as well. But, my god, he was verbal early on.

Dd2 was 20 months, bum shuffled until then! She can still trip over nothing and fall off the earth at 15. DH was 23 months before he walked - doing the same thing.

17.5 months. Never learned to crawl properly but did a lot of furniture cruising and walking holding onto a pushalong trolley for months beforehand.

I apparently didn't walk until 21 months! My parents gave me one of those walkers that you stand in which used to be popular and I didn't want to give it up. I am still on the lazy side now, although I managed sports, gymnastics, dance perfectly fine as a child. I think it was just a sign of not wanting to put in too much physical effort where it wasn't required! (Still the case now....).

Ds1 was 18 months before he started walking. He was very tall for his age so I assumed he needed a bit more development in his muscles to support his height.

He is 6'4" now!

I remember a problem getting suitable shoes for him. His feet were too large for first shoes by the time he needed them.
