Hi everyone, just wondering what everyone’s plans are for tomorrow and when you plan on getting up with your children?
Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you all have a lovely day despite the circumstances Xmas Smile

@SimonJT I'm awake too, happy Christmas!

Ds (7 with asd) woke around 20 mins ago. I am in with him as he was upset and struggling to sleep last night so I slept in his room. I told him he needs to sleep for another bit so we should make it til 5 30 / 6.
18 month old is still fast asleep.

Doublechins · 25/12/2020 05:46

My 2 year old woke the whole house up at 3.30. They've all gone back to sleep but I gave in after an hour and have been sat in the kitchen on MN since. Might go and wake them all up at 6 because I'm bored

marvelousmadmadammim · 25/12/2020 06:14

Merry x mas
I'm awake
My kids are teens and unlikely to be awake before 9!!

FestiveStuffing · 25/12/2020 06:18

IT'S CHRISTMAAAAAAS! (In the words of that band, IDK- is it Wizard?)

Have a lovely day, everyone!

FatGirlShrinking · 25/12/2020 06:22

That didn't quite go to plan. DD woke up at 11pm, threw up all over her bedroom floor and then I ended up in bed with her, waking up every hour. We've given up now and are opening presents in a minute.

Chanel05 · 25/12/2020 06:45

My dd is only 14 weeks old and no concept that it is Christmas, yet she's been up for two feeds (usually sleeps through the night) a poo and is now wide awake again.

Are children born with this sense that it's Christmas Day and they must get their parents up as early as possible?!

hiredandsqueak · 25/12/2020 06:46

My dc are asleep and will be for hours yet. The dog got me up at half five and went back to bed the minute I came down. I'm enjoying the peace and quiet before my adult dc arrive and they step back into the roles they had when small.

CosyAcorn · 25/12/2020 07:06

@FatGirlShrinking oh no! Hope your DD recovers quickly.

I'm awake, can hear DD stirring in her room but she hasn't got up yet. I'm too excited to sleep now, this is the first Christmas she has believed in Santa. I can't wait for her to see that he's been!

FuckOffDailyFailure · 25/12/2020 07:19

Ah you poor thing @FatGirlShrinking! Hope your dd is ok.

We got to about half 6. I was hoping for 7, so that isn't too bad.

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 25/12/2020 07:20

I woke up at 6. I went and sorted the cats, switched the tree lights on and put Christmas music on them came back upstairs and brushed my teeth.
The three year old got up at 6.45 and got into our bed to wait for the two year old to wake up. I think we're going to have to wake him up at this rate...

LemonDrizzles · 25/12/2020 07:21

the plan was 6 to make a birthday cake. Ended up getting up at 5:30

Crappyfridays7 · 25/12/2020 07:33

6am!!!
Best thing is my kids aren’t even here!! Had late night put the puppy to bed and he’d sleep in a bit
Over the roads house alarm going off woke him, partner jumped up shouted what’s that noise woke me up dogs barking
So both up dog and cats fed we are both half asleep on couch with cups of tea puppy snoozing
It’s going be a long long day...

midnightstar66 · 25/12/2020 08:05

Mine wandered through with opened stockings at 1.30 am. (I hadn't actually realised they were open at the time) made them put them down and go back to bed. I'd only been asleep half an hour after a marathon wrapping session. They were back up before 6. Wouldn't mind if they were excited ore schoolers but they are 11 and nearly 8. It was all done and dusted by 6.30

MrsDThomas · 25/12/2020 09:30

Ive been awake since 5, as usual. Up at 6, coffee, toast, now having a bucks fizz and smoked salmon on a bagel.

And the kids ate still fast asleep. I miss those days of them up early and totally excited.

dementedpixie · 25/12/2020 09:32

Dh and I are up. Kids still asleep. Watching the Gruffalo's child
