Hi everyone, just wondering what everyone’s plans are for tomorrow and when you plan on getting up with your children?
Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you all have a lovely day despite the circumstances Xmas Smile

When the kids were little we somehow managed to persuade them not to get up till it was light. Goodness knows how we managed that!

SexyGiraffe · 24/12/2020 22:17

The dogs will wake me around 7 asking to go out. If I'm lucky I'll have time to have a nice quiet coffee and a biscuit before DD wakes up and all goes nuts.

Crunchymum · 24/12/2020 22:17

Hoping for 7ish.

That feels humane (I'll be up late again tonight and up during the night with our new addition... a beautiful wee kitten)

pinkdragons · 24/12/2020 22:18

Fingers crossed the DC sleep till 6.30!

Paloooza · 24/12/2020 22:22

When my cat wakes me up (usually around 4am) but I can let him out the bathroom window then snuggle back to sleep and get up whenever Smile

DragonMamma · 24/12/2020 22:23

My Dc are 13 and 9 and we’ve said about 7am. Don’t like waking up and if being light on Christmas morning, feels more magical when it’s still dark.

Santaisreel · 24/12/2020 22:23

My children decide this Grin

It's anybody's guess tbh. Some years it's been 4am and some years 9am!

Mol1628 · 24/12/2020 22:25

Probably about 4am
8yo gets super excited. It was 4am for his birthday the other week.

I love it though!

doctorhamster · 24/12/2020 22:27

The dc (10 and 12) have been told they can't get up til 6.30. Going by previous experience they'll be awake at 5 though.

Bookaholic73 · 24/12/2020 22:29

Normally I’d get up at about 8.30-9.
But this year we are having the step kids so I need to get up early to do breakfast and walk the dogs before DH leaves to collect them.

GrannieD · 24/12/2020 22:29

Going out at 8 for a run so I can eat like a pig and drink like a fish for the rest of the day without an ounce of guilt...... Happy Christmas !!

FuckOffDailyFailure · 24/12/2020 22:30

Whenever dc1 wakes up. I'm hoping for 7ish.

Sgtmajormummy · 24/12/2020 22:30

7 o’clock to switch the oven on and go back to bed.
8 o’clock for breakfast and to put the roast in (3.5 hours on a low heat plus resting time).
No presents until our guest arrives at 10:30.
DC are 14 & 22.

Vanillaradio · 24/12/2020 22:30

Ds (7) likes a lie in (very lucky!) and last year we had to wake him up at nearly 9! This year however my dps obviously couldn't stay over tonight and are arriving at 8 so my alarm is set for 7.

formerbabe · 24/12/2020 22:32

I told my dd please not too early, she suggested 7.30am which I'm chuffed about! Ds is nearly 13 and I'm not sure what will win tomorrow morning...laziness or excitement...?

Alittlebitofthis · 24/12/2020 22:33

My 8 year old woke at 3 this morning! He woke at that time last Xmas. I'm really hoping for a longer lie. Once he's awake then he won't go back to sleep.

Ltdannygreen · 24/12/2020 22:33

I’ve told DCs no earlier than 7. They got up at 8am 2 days Ago and I told them that’s a more appropriate time to get up.

takeasadsongandmakeitbetter · 24/12/2020 22:36

Whenever the 2 year old won't resettle! I imagine 6.30 ish- if we are lucky

Pyewhacket · 24/12/2020 22:37

5.30 : I'm on duty at 6.30 and not home again until 8.30. Same again Boxing Day. And I have three kids. Jingle bells 🔔

MaverickDanger · 24/12/2020 22:39

8-8.30 probably and ring family in Australia from bed.

Would normally leave it a bit later but don’t want to miss my little niece & nephew.

Oliv5 · 24/12/2020 22:40

I've told mine not to get up before 6.30. He's 8 but he wakes up anywhere between 6 and 7.30 usually. Tbh if it's after 5 I'll just get up.

nancy75 · 24/12/2020 22:42

Dd is 15 so we will probably be waking her up. How times change when they stop believing in Father Christmas!
Will get up at 9 ready to FaceTime in-laws in Australia at 9.30 ( have to do it at exact time or they don’t answer!)
Will keep them on FaceTime so they can be with us opening presents.
They’ve never had Christmas with Dd (their only granddaughter) so at least this way they get to feel like they are part of it.

SewButtons · 24/12/2020 22:46

The dog will wake me around 6 wanting to go out and then have his breakfast. He doesn’t understand holidays or weekends unfortunately. Hopefully I’ll go back to sleep until 9ish though and then ideally coffee and pastries in bed.

Namechange8471 · 24/12/2020 22:51

8am, dd is 12 and I'm currently pregnant so will enjoy the lie in whilst i can!

Chanandlerbong01 · 24/12/2020 22:55

Some of these are so late! My 9 year old step daughter wakes up at 5:30 on a normal day so god knows what time tomorrow. She has started going down to feed the dogs and get a drink before playing in her room until about 7am - however I don’t expect her to be able to wait tomorrow!
