Excellent article @MercyBooth

I separated from my husband after 26 years in 2019 and now live pretty much on my own in a 2 bed flat with teenage DS popping in a couple of times a week.

Not just Christmas, but I felt pretty much forgotten about back in March as well. My job suddenly had to be done from home and I couldn’t see family or friends. Those were very dark days. If it hadn’t been for having to get out and walk my dog several times a day it would have been beyond awful.

Checking in. Last day of work before Xmas. V busy. Off to see my friends and their baby tomoz courtesy of our newly formed bubble.

Then nowt till Xmas day. Going to eat my weight in heroes and watch shit tv. If Boris comes on it's going off. Fuck him.

Enjoy the baby snuggles, and I will also be chomping my way through heroes. I am seriously indulging myself this year, the food I've ordered is sooooo good. I'm normally very conscious of what I eat, but fuck it, I've earned it.

I've also took the batteries out of my scales which feels oddly therapeutic....

Had a really good day here after some bloody awful ones.
I'm only sharing the good. Had a great walk with dh to Surrey's secret waterfall. Then the whole family resurrected the wii and I was in pole position in mario carts until I fell off a waterfall on the last bend 😂
However dd wins the day signing the contract for her grad job next September Smile

Woo hoo! Well done to your DD I remember getting my first graduate job at an accountancy firm. It was amazing!
MercyBooth · 22/12/2020 19:07

Ive bought Heroes this year too. I saw ppl on Twitter who had emptied their Quality Street tubs and there were only two green triangles and three purple ones.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 22/12/2020 19:07

Well done @dingit s DD.

Also, at least you fell off a waterfall, you didn't get red shelled by your own husband as you approached the finish line (not that I'm still holding a grudge mind)

Bollss · 22/12/2020 19:10

I saw that too. The green triangles are the best ones!

Fell off sofa laughing Manchester has said Wales visitors have to isolate for 10 days when they arrive no mixing. We're persona non grata coz we're zombies 🤣🤣

I know I shouldn't but I found that mildly amusing, as the Welsh people I know have so far been some of the biggest dementors (not here though) who spent all summer shouting that the dirty disease ridden English need to stay away from Wales....
Evenstar · 22/12/2020 19:25

I had an appointment for my second jab on the COVID vaccine trial I am taking part in, I was chatting with the nurse who checked my BP etc when I arrived and like me he feels very uncertain about the claims being made around this “new strain”. We agreed that it suddenly being more contagious would certainly raise compliance with all the new restrictions and Christmas being cancelled.

As I was in Tier 4 for a permitted reason I popped into Home Bargains, as there isn’t one near me, for some bits and pieces and found it almost empty, it was easier to social distance than in Tier 2 at home. I was in and out in 10 minutes so actually felt it was lower risk than going to several shops at home.

There’s a secret waterfall in Surrey?!

I love it! I want to see it. Love waterfalls.

wanderings · 22/12/2020 19:58

Where is that waterfall? I love waterfalls too.

Some of the threads on the dark side read like pure trolling, to get those with immaculate haloes frothing. On of the many "DH hobby" threads has taken a new turn: DH's hobby is killing me!

ISaySteadyOn · 22/12/2020 20:00

That waterfall is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I love waterfalls too, @AcornAutumn.

dingit · 22/12/2020 20:02

Tillingbourne waterfall near Dorking.
It's not easy to find and was very muddy. I was longing for a cafe or pub afterwards but alas ( to quote Boris) it wasn't to be. Angry

Willow2017 · 22/12/2020 20:05

@Jourdain11

Thank you. I hope she'll feel a bit brighter tomorrow. I'm just so tired, I don't know what to do and what to say any more. I want to think and to say that things will get better, but I feel so sad inside.
Massive hugs to you and your dd Jourdain11. Each of the useless govs should be ashamed of themselves. 💐 to everyone feeling down today.

Has anyone on here ever had this? I had no period for nearly eight weeks. And ive now been bleeding since around the 4th/5th December. Sometimes its painful but sometimes not. Im 47 so its menopause i think. Googled and came up with fibroids.

Yes I did, period that seemed to go on forever and got really worried. They've now stopped completely so I assumed it was just part of the menopause. However if you're still worried don't let me stop you seeking medical advice.
MercyBooth · 22/12/2020 20:15
