Am I wrong to keep this secret?

DH on a long shift today, not home until about 8. Being the dutiful working from home wife I am, dinner has been in the slow cooker all day so he has a hot meal ready when he gets home.

After smelling it all day and feeling under the weather, I don't want it and I've ordered myself Chinese to perk myself up.

Would I be totally unreasonable to scoff the lot (washed down with a bucket of wine), hide the evidence, and then proclaim how delicious the Spanish chicken stew was?

(Lighthearted, obvs).

Have the Chinese and drink all the 🍷 to all the haters f* all yalllllllllll 😂 xx

I regularly do this when dh is on lates. I don't buy him takeaway because I've cooked real food so he can eat that. He's often found me out, and just laughs at me whilst he enjoys his nice home cooked meal. I don't think he's ever once called me mean for it haha.

Well I'd be pissed off if my husband did this. I know you said it's light-hearted but it is a bit weird especially as you had to hide the evidence. Why not say you were getting a takeaway so he could pick one up too.
Hiding it suggests you know it wasn't quite fair.

😂😂😂
Agree though that the vegan husband/chicken on beach sounds over controlling!

Riolou3 · 24/11/2020 20:41

Brilliant, I love this!
Cease the day and eat what you want.... 😉

Ifeelsuchafool · 24/11/2020 21:09

Sorry, I'm in the, "mean and weird" camp. I'd be messaging and being honest, "I've cooked X but tbh I don't feel like it now and really craving Chinese so am going to order and have my portion of X tomorrow. You want me to order you a Chinese too or do you prefer the idea of X?"
Sorted. Where's the problem?

DressingGownofDoom · 24/11/2020 21:20

I love doing this when I can get DH out of the house. He grumbles about takeaways, always wants to eat healthy frugal meals Envy so as soon as he's gone I enjoy a nice crispy chilli beef with chips and a can of Coke Grin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 24/11/2020 21:31

My DH is extremely U because he doesn't like Chinese takeaway. You're lucky OP Grin

Mamanyt · 24/11/2020 23:21

I wouldn't have hidden it. I'd have told mine exactly what I did, and told him, "You can have the chicken, or you can order Chinese, and we'll put the chicken in the fridge for tomorrow."

@JorisBonson

A whole load of malteasers have also mysteriously disappeared, probably the cats fault.
I actually had a cat years ago that loved to eat Maltesers! He was so funny - he would hold them in his mouth until they dissolved and then swallow the mush - obviously their jaws aren't designed to crush the biscuity bit in the middle, but he was happy to wait.........Grin.

Haha ! I cooked a curry that Was demonstrated on This Morning today from scratch.
I didn’t like the taste it, but my OH would basically eat anything. plus he has very little sense of taste/ smell anyway.
I cooked another smaller curry for myself - tried and rested -) and we sat in the same room ,ate our meals and he didn’t notice 😂.
In fact he enjoyed it.
He’s got the remainder to take to work tomorrow.😜

Thisisnotreallymyname · 25/11/2020 00:01

Tried and tested !

Barmychick · 25/11/2020 17:36

This is hilarious!

Nackajory · 25/11/2020 20:05
