What do we think about this? It does all seem remarkably interesting timing....

OP posts:
Imissmoominmama · 15/11/2020 21:26

He’ll get the phone calls, asking how he is and whether he needs help with his shopping Grin.

MrsTwitcher · 15/11/2020 21:26

He is isolating as he had been in contact with an MP who later tested positive. Isnt that what we are all supposed to do? I hope he and everyone else involved are ok through this bloody awful pandemic.

MadinMarch · 15/11/2020 21:27

Whaaaat??? From Carrie?

At least she'll be able to get on with running the country in peace....

RosieLemonade · 15/11/2020 21:27

Surely he will just work from home? He lives at work anyway?

Ellmau · 15/11/2020 21:29

What, again? I didn't think you could get it twice.

gamerchick · 15/11/2020 21:32

@Ellmau

There's no evidence of lasting immunity I don't think. Not yet.
SoupDragon · 15/11/2020 21:32

I thought it had been quite well publicised that you can get it more than once.
Keeping2ChevronsApart · 15/11/2020 21:32

@chomalungma

Do you think he got a phone call from a teenager in a call centre telling him to self isolate Grin

Or did his app go off?

Why can't a teenager be good enough for the job? They don't all have Saturday jobs in McDonald's you know
Unsure33 · 15/11/2020 21:33

He will still be working . And he has not been doing the brexit negotiations he has a team .

No drama here .

Chewbecca · 15/11/2020 21:34

I wonder how he came to be in close contact. Why isn’t he wfh and keeping his distance when he does need to meet f2f?

Unsure33 · 15/11/2020 21:35

@Ellmau

Yes you can . I know someone in her 30s who has had it twice .it’s rare but possible .

Lemonylemony · 15/11/2020 21:35

We’re not supposed to be in contact with anybody outside of our own household (with exceptions for bubbles/care etc), and if we have to meet people for work, we should be observing safe distancing etc which would mean you wouldn’t be a close contact. Obviously there are some jobs you can’t avoid close contact..... but bloody business type meeting, you do not need to be less than 2m apart. Could have been via Zoom FFS.

That Boris needs to self isolate from meeting someone for work, just shows he’s not following the rules the rest of us all are. How surprising.

Unsure33 · 15/11/2020 21:36

@Chewbecca

I think he nature of the jobs is lots of meetings and lots of talking in unventilated rooms .

thecatsatonthewall · 15/11/2020 21:37

He'll avoid any appearances in front of committee and PMQ's

Remarkable that he is one of few world leaders to contract CV and now he has to SI because he was in close proximity to a positive case, lax to say the least.

scaevola · 15/11/2020 21:37

@Ellmau

Yes, there are a low but increasing number of cases where it is proven second infection (established by examining the virus present each time, and showing it to be different).

There are many additional reports of people testing positive again after intervals of many weeks, but if no sample was kept from the first infection (quite likely) there is no way to demonstrate whether it is second infection.

If immunity wears off at about the 6-9 month point, thus is about when we!0'd expect to see the first proven cases of reinfection.

Unfortunately it seems that not everyone gets it more mildly on second infection

chomalungma · 15/11/2020 21:38

Why can't a teenager be good enough for the job

Defensive much?

Do you think that a teenager rang up the Prime Minister of this country and told him to self isolate?

Because it says he was contacted by NHS Test and Trace.

Or do you think such a phone call for VIPs goes up the food chain to someone senior?

PeaceAndHarmoneeee · 15/11/2020 21:41

Another example of people in positions of responsibility not following their own rules.

No wonder so many the general public think they're ok not to follow the rules either.

Boris had no need to be in close contact with this MP, government business like that can be carried out remotely.

caffeineanddryshampoo · 15/11/2020 21:46

He's a lazy bugger.

Shitfuckoh · 15/11/2020 21:48

He was probably shaking hands again

If you don't work in test and trace you don't know the average age of the employees apart from what you're reading in the daily mail 🙄
chomalungma · 15/11/2020 21:51

If you don't work in test and trace you don't know the average age of the employees apart from what you're reading in the daily mai

So it's quite possible that someone else rang him from Test and Trace who was not a teenager then.

Who will be stepping out on Wednesday.... are you opening the book?
nosswith · 15/11/2020 21:55

Wednesday will be Dominic Raab. Possibly the second worst Foreign Secretary in history, after Boris Johnson. Though Lord Halifax wasn't up to much either.

BananaPop2020 · 15/11/2020 21:57

@nosswith will Raab be out of isolation by then?

OP posts:
BananaPop2020 · 15/11/2020 21:59

Given the news of his isolation broke on the 5th, possibly not!
