What do we think about this? It does all seem remarkably interesting timing....

OP posts:
ThatWasThat · 15/11/2020 22:55

@BananaPop2020

indeed. so he breached his own rules

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 15/11/2020 22:55

Is No 10 not a covid secure workplace?

Zixxy · 15/11/2020 22:56

Very convenient timing just the same for our lazy PM. Idiot, sorry but this sounds contrived to me.

Unsure33 · 15/11/2020 23:00

So are you saying , which you are , that every single person who has tested positive for covid recently has only got it because they broke the rules?

So if you have it , it’s all your own fault ?

And you have never been closer than 2 m to anyone ?

And don’t you think there may be security reasons why zoom meetings are not used?

What a load of hypocrites you all are.

GrumblyMumblyisnotJumbly · 15/11/2020 23:02

SoupDragon - So, Boris has been in contact with someone as part of his job, that person has tested positive for Covid and Boris is self isolating as required and somehow he is still on the wrong...?

Lockdown guidelines - To help contain the virus, everyone who can work effectively from home should do so.

Boris was working from home but did the other MPs have to attend No 10. in person?

JacobReesMogadishu · 15/11/2020 23:02

So how come he gets to isolate when people at work/kids at school are told not to unless they’ve been closer than 2m for more than 15 mins? Surely Boris was social distancing and never within 2m?

Littleposh · 15/11/2020 23:02

Why is he going to resign?? Have I missed something??

JacobReesMogadishu · 15/11/2020 23:05

He’s been moaning it’s all a bit tough and he can’t afford a nanny.

ssd · 15/11/2020 23:08

@Littleposh

Why is he going to resign?? Have I missed something??
Hahahaha
Zixxy · 15/11/2020 23:12

Best entertainment ever during these tough times for ordinary mortals.

They must think we are stupid.

lovelyupnorth · 15/11/2020 23:15

Wondered how long it would take the pond scum to hide again. He is a fucking clown that should be in prison and not screwing up the country.

WouldBeGood · 15/11/2020 23:16

Exactly @BananaPop2020

AcornAutumn · 15/11/2020 23:18

I’m puzzled by the comments on this thread

I don’t necessarily think he’s being truthful

But he hasn’t been irresponsible in attending work meetings etc which is the story behind this. If we have to go in to work, how many of us can maintain 2m all the time?

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 15/11/2020 23:19

Many can’t maintain 2m distance at all time’s

We switch the app off

Staff that have forgot are self isolating

MillyA · 15/11/2020 23:19

What, again? I didn't think you could get it twice.

I think it's certainly possible.

I had textbook covid symptoms in March but couldn't get a test.

I then fell ill in July and tested positive.

I volunteered to take part in a Genomics study and got to chatting with the woman taking my blood sample, I queried whether there was a chance that my positive test in July could be left over viral shedding from March as what I had in March felt a hell of alot worse than July's barely noticeable illness.

She said that was unlikely and it was more probable that i'd contracted it twice as evidence suggests that antibodies could be very short lasting.

I did some research myself and found some anecdotal accounts of people picking it up again months later for a second time but being predominantly asymptomatic.

slothtrot · 15/11/2020 23:24

@Imissmoominmama

He’ll get the phone calls, asking how he is and whether he needs help with his shopping Grin.
He doesn't, he's already been on MN asking if it's ok to do a quick scoot around Tesco.
FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 15/11/2020 23:26

Hmm at all the conspiracy theorists.

From the BBC news website - political analysis by Nick Eardley:

Boris Johnson will now have to stay at home in No 10.

It means he will not be able to be in Parliament, though I'm told he will be working from Downing Street.

He does still intend to keep communicating with the country.

It was supposed to be a pretty big week for Boris Johnson - he is trying to reset his government after some factional fighting in his office over the last few days.

There are conversations taking place with the parliamentary authorities to see whether he can still contribute to the Commons.

I think it is fair to say this has not come at the best time for Mr Johnson: he has big decisions to make on Brexit and what happens when England's lockdown ends on 2 December.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 15/11/2020 23:31

It’s not known if you can catch it twice or be a carrier more than once

Really hard to know as so many people don’t have any symptoms

ThatWasThat · 15/11/2020 23:32

Obviously to do some jobs it's not possible to keep 2m distance at all times, but I don't think being Prime Minster is one of those jobs

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 15/11/2020 23:34

Boris has been on the brink of resigning since he has been PM according to MN

No way is he going to go before Brexit his ego won’t allow him

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 15/11/2020 23:36

No I don’t think it is

But when you are constantly surrounded by people and getting on with work it is very easy to forget that you should be keeping a distance

And you might remember and keep to it but others might not

Not sure why they have had so many at No. 10 it was inevitable

PullTheBricksDown · 15/11/2020 23:56

Incredible how he can pull off being incompetent and also conniving at the same time.

Also typical that Rees Mogg insisted they had to return to attending the Commons even though remote voting had been working well, but now the big chief Hmm can't be there they'll look at remote options. Didn't manage it before for others who were at risk or had family members who were vulnerable. What a disgrace.

PullTheBricksDown · 16/11/2020 00:00

Also, I believe No 10 has a sodding rose garden. Why can't they have their face to face meetings out there?

Givemeabreakpls · 16/11/2020 00:09

Forgive me if this a stupid question but, if immunity is potentially very short-lived (a matter of weeks in some cases) how is the vaccine going to work? I have read we’d all need two sets a year - the story of Boris has me thinking. does this mean vaccinations may have to be more frequent?

CoffeeCreamandSugar · 16/11/2020 00:52

It is quite convenient
