Tesco Christmas slot

Is anyone else trying to get a Christmas delivery slot?

This is my first year booking a delivery and I think I underestimated the demand - I’ve been in the queue for the best part of an hour Shock

Hedgie Well if you are logged in, then they must have info for you, mustn't they? I'm just trying to understand how some people appear to have 'jumped the queue'.

But my point is, until you get on the site to log in they don't know who is in waiting to log in so they can't know location you usually deliver to

HedgieHog · 14/11/2020 11:56

I tried on my laptop tablet and phone, I switched Wi-Fi off my phone and used 4g, I had holding pages on the app and webpage on my phone, I got through on the app, last year my phone on 4g was quickest too

Hedge If you can't log in at all then that would be capacity limits. But if once logged in you seem to move faster or slower than someone else already logged in (so leapfrogging in the queue), that could be due to location.

I logged in at 7.30 through the app and went about my business checking it occasionally. Finally got through three hours later. I wanted the 23rd, only got click and collect, which is fine.
My friend totally forgot logged in much later but got one for 21st. Luck of the draw I guess.
As for going in person - memories of having to wait 45 minutes in a queue to check out then over an hour to get our of the parking lot! Never again!

Why could I only see slots up to the 10th December?!

TeenPlusTwenties · 14/11/2020 12:06

Lets Are you a Delivery Saver customer?

Letseatgrandma · 14/11/2020 12:14

Yes, I am! I’m using the app-do I need to go online?

MyOtherProfile · 14/11/2020 12:26

I found the website easier in this one instance.

The checkout queue lengths and trying to get out of the carpark is exactly why I have a delivery a couple of days earlier and then walk up if we've forgotten anything or there's something missing
BrutusMcDogface · 14/11/2020 18:37

I couldn’t get on in the morning but then checked again in my lunch break and managed to get one for the 18th. 🙄 oh and it’s click and collect, too! 🙄🙄

Thing is, there’s no guarantee that the goods will be in stock anyway.

I hate the world at the moment.

Asda greater Manchester has plenty of availability up to the 20th December but nothing after if that helps anyone.
@VettiyaIruken Thanks, I didn't know that. I suppose it is the same principle as having a delivery made to a holiday let? Just an address change?
I think with tesco you are only allowed 1 slot for the Xmas week, so even if you change the address you won't be able to book her a slot through your account

No, Tesco are letting people book as many Xmas slots as they like. Assuming they are available.

My neighbour booked a slot for the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. She does it so her daughters can get food delivered that week, and they can pick it up from her.
