Anyone who didn't might want to see last nights last leg election special too.

Can't remember exactly who but apparently someone said something about 'we have procedures and staff capable of removing trespassers' in relation to trump saying he'd refuse to leave? Grin

Brilliant quote from Biden’s campaign spokesman when asked about Trump refusing to leave.
‘The US Government is perfectly capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House
😆

That's the one!

That might persuade Donald Trump to call off the legal teams and leave with less noise.

Yea I wouldn't hold my breath on that one! I think trump will be bitching and conspiracy theorising on this till he dies!

I really hope Biden does make any possible Brexit related trade agreement incumbent on Uk govt respecting the GFA.

Last leg also said about pence pardoning trump etc it would be a smart move but I think trump is too arrogant to do that he won't believe that as a former president he would and could be sued/litigated

They surely can’t allow them to manipulate the system to enable him to be pardoned! well it worked for Nixon!

While the rest of the world congratulates Biden, there is not a peep out of Johnson yet well took him a while at least and fairly non committal, are you really surprised? He'll be shitting himself! Plus he lacks class despite his supposedly posh background. "Shared priorities" my arse!

SO HAPPY for kamala, incredible historic choice there.

How long before Melania delivers divorce papers dyou reckon?

End of the week or saving it for Christmas Day, Den n' Ange style? Grin showing your age there! (I remember it too remember watching it like Shock)

A brilliant idea. I wonder if I could send her a link to the clip

Yep

"Just a suggestion Melania"

Not very good news for the UK, for all those whooping and cheering. Leaves us badly exposed on brexit, Northern Ireland and a US trade agreement

It makes it less likely that Johnson will be able to throw NI under a bus. Win win. Did you hear what Biden said to the BBC earlier when they asked him for a word? "I'm Irish". Gave Farage a right hissy fit.

Parker231 · 07/11/2020 21:39

Twitter feeds reporting that they think Trump will concede by the middle of next week when his legal team have no evidence to take to court.

Mrsjayy · 07/11/2020 21:44

I was reading that he doesn't have to concede it is just a courtesy, I think he will just grunt and mutter and not concede

Parker231 · 07/11/2020 22:20

Must be back from his golf game and back on Twitter

THE OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED INTO THE COUNTING ROOMS. I WON THE ELECTION, GOT 71,000,000 LEGAL VOTES. BAD THINGS HAPPENED WHICH OUR OBSERVERS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO SEE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. MILLIONS OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS WERE SENT TO PEOPLE WHO NEVER ASKED FOR THEM!

Peregrina · 07/11/2020 22:45

Apparently some States are allowed to send out postal ballots regardless of whether the voter has asked. Or so I read.

SonjaHeniesTutu · 07/11/2020 23:24

Wine for us Wine

Whine for trump and I'll even throw in a Biscuit

Graphista · 07/11/2020 23:35

He really is beyond thick isn't he? Just because voters were sent postal voting forms doesn't mean they would definitely vote nor that if they did they would vote against him!

How the hell he's managed to make money I don't understand he must coincidentally be surrounded by bloody good employees who basically ignore him!

Doesn't his own mum think he's right thick too?

HannahStern · 08/11/2020 00:00

Don't forget that Trump had very like-minded pals in Farage and Johnson who were well capable of making thinly-veiled racist comments on Obama:

Glad he won but isn't he a bit old?

VinylDetective · 08/11/2020 00:10

Glad he won but isn't he a bit old?
For what? More ageist bollocks.

I agree and I’m not being ageist, it’s a fact. He turns 78 this month and gives the impression of being somewhat physically frail... although he may be stronger than he looks.

That’s why he’s chosen a V-P in her 50’s, he’s ensuring there’ll be a younger, electable successor in the event of a health crisis and for a second term. He ain’t stupid.

ConfusedcomMum · 08/11/2020 00:59

m.youtube.com/watch?v=9eMoCW1Pq54 😭 sad that many of us have been feeling like this in the UK too for the last few years...

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 08/11/2020 01:19

Some states have all postal voting. Others send out postal ballots as a default, but you can still vote in person if you prefer. Each person only gets 1 vote though. There are various ways of ensuring this but, typically, you have to take your postal ballot paperwork with you to the voting centre, so it's impossible to vote twice.

I don’t understand why Trump is clinging on. Why not concede, mutter about corruption and happily spend your final years making tonnes of money on the speech circuit without the responsibilities of a presidency?

Mrsjayy · 08/11/2020 09:04

Because he is the biggest of arseholes!

Callipygion · 08/11/2020 10:03

Poor Boris was probably having a tantrum that’s why he was over an hour behind everyone else congratulating Biden. Didums.

iklboogeymum · 08/11/2020 12:15

Trump is like a toddler having a tantrum. He needs sending to his room and no sweetie privileges for a week.

You mean not very good news for GB. It's excellent news for NI
SpeedofaSloth · 08/11/2020 16:07

I do keep checking the news for Trump's concession speech, I have to admit. It can't be far away now, surely.

I suspect it’s at least a month away if it ever happens.
crankysaurus · 08/11/2020 17:25

Think you'll be waiting a very, very long time for that.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 08/11/2020 19:20

I think it’ll be on or after January 6, 2021, when new president will be officially announced in a joint session of the House and Senate. As president of the Senate, Mike Pence will have to make the announcement...that’ll be worth watching.😄

There’s a whole process with various December deadlines for certifying the votes, recounts, mounting legal challenges, etc. It to be done and dusted by January.

KihoBebiluPute · 09/11/2020 03:41

There is no legal or practical requirement for the loser to make a concession speech. It's just traditional as a mark of civilised behaviour. Like the various other things Trymp didn't bother with that Presidents usually do (eg reestruictiring business holdings to make sure one doesn't personally profit from the Presidency)

Exactly. I don't know why people think he's gonna concede any time soon. He likely never will.
