When nothing else will do - Mornington Crescent anyone?

Feels like we could all do with a robust tournament round about now. May I start?

I know this is cheeky, but I’ll begin with...

...Osterley

You're right, DuckonaBike, things have gone very quiet. Are our fellow players of the game of games exhausted, or are they keeping a low profile while planning an audacious move to take us to our ultimate destination? Time will tell ...

Covent Garden

DuckonaBike · 09/12/2020 07:48

Hmmm....

Angel

nosswith · 09/12/2020 14:27

Probably a simple move, but Moorgate.

WalkingInTheAir13 · 10/12/2020 10:23

Simple move? ......I think not.

And it's allowed me a great chance to employ the left-handled grindle sprocket manoeuvre to Chancery Lane.

nosswith · 11/12/2020 15:12

Thank goodness for the Crossrail rule which gets me to Southall.

DuckonaBike · 11/12/2020 18:04

Gosh. Limited options...

Heathrow Terminal 4

nosswith · 13/12/2020 10:02

We could be stuck there a very long time unless the closed stations rule is played. Apparently until the end of 2021, which would mean the game could last longer than the 11 month game in 2017 won with a shunt from Archway if I recall correctly.

I move to Hounslow East on this wet Sunday morning.

DuckonaBike · 13/12/2020 12:40

Thanks for getting us out of that nosswith. I realised my mistake and was worried it would end up like Vienna in 1998, but without even sachertorte to lighten the mood.

I’ll make a safe move to West Harrow

ComeBackIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/12/2020 12:31

Hmm. We seem to be making very little progress. Surely MC will soon be within reach? We could then start a new game of games using the Festive Addendum to spice things up. To help us reach that happy state, let’s head to

Warren Street

nosswith · 15/12/2020 13:05

MC I think is a long way off. So I move to Victoria.

DuckonaBike · 15/12/2020 13:12

A quick shunt to South Kensington

nosswith · 17/12/2020 06:41

A short journey to Stamford Brook which I cannot remember ever being a move in any game of games I have joined.

nosswith · 18/12/2020 14:45

And on to Hammersmith.

DuckonaBike · 18/12/2020 15:55

I fear our fellow players are distracted by Christmas preparations.

I shall move things on to Edgware Road

nosswith · 20/12/2020 17:17

I shall make use of the Metropolitan line and move to Preston Road.

DuckonaBike · 22/12/2020 17:40

Using the Seasonal Exemption, Barbican

Halfeatentoast · 22/12/2020 17:50

Mor....
Oh no blast! Too early! I forgot the Tier 4 restriction amendment! Noooooo! Now I have to sit this round out!

nosswith · 22/12/2020 17:55

Using the seasonal exemption and the Post Office Railway rule, back we go to Paddington.

ComeBackIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/12/2020 00:38

Apologies for my absence. The Colonel and I were at the Seattle preliminaries - held over Zoom in these difficult times - and things got rather intense by the fifth day. One Archbishop was crowned champion and the other sent home in disgrace. Anyway, this was the move that clinched it:

Transverse Demi-shunt to Lambeth North

nosswith · 23/12/2020 09:44

Nice to see technology being used for an important purpose, Maud, though disappointing to hear about one of the Archbishops.

I will be brave and remain south of the river and travel to Brixton.

ComeBackIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/12/2020 09:57

Have you been on the sherry, nosswith?

Stockwell

DuckonaBike · 23/12/2020 13:59

Well I find the sun goes over the yard arm increasingly early at this festive time of year, so there’s no judgement from me.

Leicester Square

ShatnersWig · 23/12/2020 14:00

Grange Hill

nosswith · 23/12/2020 15:08

I am sure there is plenty of sherry in Chigwell so will move there. I have not had any so far, though after the news of the Seattle preliminaries would be justified in having some.

ComeBackIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/12/2020 15:48

Yes, it was all rather shocking. Even the Rear Admiral looked perturbed, and he famously emerged from the Barnstaple playoffs in ‘77 without a hair out of place, and we all recall what happened there. But I digress
