We've polished off our hotel breakfasts, flocked to the beaches and eaten out to help out with Rishi. Now the D-Day style floatilla of Anti-Dementor boats weather the stormy seas of tiers 1, 2 and 3 and support each other through the calls for lockdown.

Hold on tight and get those bouyancy aids on...

Playgrounds had better not be padlocked again is all I am saying.

CruCru · 23/10/2020 15:23

I think if playgrounds are padlocked people will turn up with the bolt cutters.

Playgrounds, parks and outdoor gyms are all staying open.

justasking111 · 23/10/2020 15:40

Drakeford on again. Reason for non essential ban, it is not fair on other businesses.

justasking111 · 23/10/2020 15:47

Oh fuckity fuck, still restrictions after 9th November Drakeford says.

DominaShantotto · 23/10/2020 15:53

Different GP this time around - who has raised my meds again to try to get the fucking anxiety under control, and is happy to back my application for a parking permit to get into uni. Also apparently there's anti misting spray for glasses wearers which really works that she's tipped me off about to investigate.

JamSarnie · 23/10/2020 15:57

DH and I were discussing a while back (pre covid) about relocating once retired and had discussed Wales or Scotland.

No bloody way now is that on the cards because whilst I think Boris hasn't a clue what is happening across the borders is crazy.

MissEWeatherwax · 23/10/2020 16:22

Are people saying if you wfh, you can look after children at the same time again. It nearly broke people the last time.
Women punished again.
Our numbers are coming down, but I still think we are going into tier 3 till probably Christmas ( I’m a pessimist)
Saw on the news that Newcastle United fans donated the cost of the tv of game to a Newcastle food bank. Well done them.

maggienolia · 23/10/2020 16:28

Had a Dementor friend in this morning, when I mentioned that I was going to the gym three times a week I thought she was going to sprint out of the door there and then.
I also went to spread more death and pestilence by buying 5 Munchkins (the pumpkin kind) at the garden centre. And finished the killing spree with a bag of cat food.
If anyone needs cheering up, here's a shot of our ejog.

Just what is the fucking point of all this? Lockdown for a bit, numbers low again and boom numbers rise and you’re back where you started. And I swear to God, Sturgeon and her magical five tiers. I am getting so sick of the fucking point scoring. Is level 5 like a special one you can only unlock if you have a Scottish postcode?

JamSarnie · 23/10/2020 16:44

I would be very worried in Scotland. Tier 0 sounds to me very much like how they would want normal to be even when covid numbers are zero

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 16:45

@maggienolia awww, gorgeous 😊

I know.... Restrictions in tier 0 to me mean forever....
WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 16:46

@JamSarnie I am very worried. It seems to say level 0 is forever until a vaccine or “treatment”.

Orangeblossom7777 · 23/10/2020 16:48

I was just speaking to friend in central Scotland - children struggling, have started self harming Sad she let now go on a playdate and her own family said something like 'I hope you live to regret it' Hmm

But then she was also dementoring about family going on a work trip, and saying things like 'we can't have bodies piling up'. It was a bit of an eye opener to be honest.

AgentCooper · 23/10/2020 16:49

@WouldBeGood same. Our numbers got ridiculously low in summer, for ages, and there were still so many restrictions. I’ve not been allowed in my office since March, my DS’s toddler group never reopened, our council pools never reopened, library is click and collect only. That was the best it got. I am so fucking done with the SNP. So done.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 23/10/2020 17:06

Well no I said I have a family member doing this already and she is on her knees and she'd kill for more childminder hours and is under huge pressure at work with threat of redundacy hovering over her. Like rest of our family she's in England and some distance away from us.

Same here - so many things never got re-opened under Welsh Labour and I don't see the city centre here really recovering as it was already in trouble.

Reedwarbler · 23/10/2020 17:08

I really cannot see how restricting what you buy in Wales will help reduce the virus in any way. It seems more like a form of penalty/punishment to teach the population a lesson, like saying 'this is what happens if you don't stop spreading the virus around', which, of course, to any right minded person, is totally bonkers.
@JamSarnie funnily enough I was browsing right move earlier and looking at the Forest of Dean, then I had a horrible thought, and made a further check as to where the border was! Wouldn't want to buy a property in Wales by mistake. I though Boris was bad, but he's got nothing on Drakeford.

justasking111 · 23/10/2020 17:12

Wales figures yesterday 701 positive tests in the whole of the country, 94 in the whole of n. wales, 4!! in my county. The figures are dropping like a stone now the students are now getting over it. 2k students locked up in Cardiff I read. It is bloody crazy. Gloucester police are going to patrol the borders into Wales and turn people back, fines can be issued. What the hell are english police doing getting involved.

TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain · 23/10/2020 17:21

It has started to take on a religious feel to me. Our leaders and their dementor allies are like a bunch of Old Testament judges, frantically demanding more and more sacrifices for their bonfires to try and change what is happening. Anyone who isn't seen as sacrificing enough is cast out and in danger of ending up on the bonfire themself.

AcornAutumn · 23/10/2020 17:21

I don’t know anything about
Mark Drakeford

Is he the type to enjoy a totalitarian power grab?

The statistics years ago about employment were surprising. 48% of people worked in or benefited from public sector employees. No idea what the percentage is now or the benefit to the economy. But that may give some indication as to how people think within the magic circle. If you believe your job/pension to be safe it does skew your outlook on life somewhat. OH has had some entertaining disagreements with friends about this over the years, being self employed and the public sector not benefiting his industry.

It is in the psyche of the government to equalise the democratic system always has been, it may stem from the master servant way Wales was run for the longest time. That is not to say that the welsh do not like to get ahead especially using the black economy, we miscall that type the "Tafia" Grin They blame the english for taxation of any kind.

WouldBeGood · 23/10/2020 17:38

@TheSmallClangerWhistlesAgain yes! That’s exactly how it feels. Very scary

Orangeblossom7777 · 23/10/2020 17:39

Just seen a funny video of the youth in Cardiff out in packs while they can before the lockdown, looked pretty gregarious.
