Today was our last normal day for a while.

We woke up as usual to the sounds of the babies in their cot. DP got up, got washed and dressed,, went downstairs and made his lunch for work then came back up with a bottle for smallest baby and a cup of milk for slightly bigger baby. Then DP headed for work. I spent the day with the babies and the dog doing all our usual stuff. Today was DP's last day at work. On Monday we all go into isolation for two weeks. On Monday 26th Oct DP goes into hospital to have one third of his pancreas, his duodenum, his bile ducts and part of his stomach removed. He has pancreatic cancer and this op is his only chance of seeing Christmas 2021.

I have no idea what our future holds and I am scared.

So sorry to read this OP. Be strong when you need to and give yourself a break when you need to too. I hope it all works out for you, I really do. Sending love and a huge handhold xx

I remember reading your thread where you discovered he was ill but I never commented. I really hope all goes well for your DP so sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

Pancreatic cancer is ... horrible. Your dp's op sounds so invasive, but I hope it will give him many more years of life. Thinking of you all.

You’re going to be okay, I get that feeling because today you both got up, got washed and dressed, looked after your kids. It’s funny isn’t it how you can hold together normality in the face of an unimaginable situation.

Your DH is lucky to have you on his team and your kids to have you both.

My DH had a distal pancreatectomy a few years ago, for a type of benign neuroendocrine tumour. We knew it would most likely be curative, but nevertheless it was a long road, and very hard. I remember those strange last limbo days too well. Thinking of you. 💐
