Today was our last normal day for a while.

We woke up as usual to the sounds of the babies in their cot. DP got up, got washed and dressed,, went downstairs and made his lunch for work then came back up with a bottle for smallest baby and a cup of milk for slightly bigger baby. Then DP headed for work. I spent the day with the babies and the dog doing all our usual stuff. Today was DP's last day at work. On Monday we all go into isolation for two weeks. On Monday 26th Oct DP goes into hospital to have one third of his pancreas, his duodenum, his bile ducts and part of his stomach removed. He has pancreatic cancer and this op is his only chance of seeing Christmas 2021.

I have no idea what our future holds and I am scared.

I have followed your other threads, didn't realise he was so young, with two babies at home. I am so sorry. I know surgery is a big deal, but with cancer if surgery is offered that is good news, it usually means there is a chance of a cure. Good luck with everything

I've followed your journey with your DH since your first post on the old thread. I often check back for updates. Ironically I'm now on the cancer pathway waiting for my pancreas to be fully checked out. It should have been within two weeks, but nothing. I hope the doctor gives you something to help you sleep and get through his surgery and the recovery. I really admire you for looking after the babies through all this.

once he goes in I won't feel comfortable taking sleeping tablets in case the babies wake in the night

When my DH was in he was often awake in the night and we texted - sometimes just “xx” - to reassure each other.

I also relied heavily on some people on another (not health related) forum for support during the long wait while he was in theatre and during anxious antisocial hours. I’d recommend leaning on us.

My heart goes out to you all and I am sending my love and best wishes.
My aunt had pancreatic cancer and a tumour nine years ago and is now healthy and happy and back working. She now has stomach issues as the operation was so severe so she can't eat certain foods but otherwise made a remarkable recovery.
