Today, I cleaned the fridge

yes I really did !

I pulled it out and cleaned behind, and it was bad.. my bad.

I emptied it and bleached everything including the food, and have just put everything in it and pushed it back and arranged all the fridge magnets and children's drawings and I feel amazing.

I sent a small video to my bloke hard at work.... which he appreciated no end. I do believe he is showing our fridge to his colleagues right now (NOT)

Tomorrow I will clean out one kitchen cupboard because I am fab. I am Woman and I can do this.

Anybody else do anything truly wonderful and worthy of note today ?

I have a very big cupboard and no sugar
The very long haired dog needs to be brushed
And dh is home after an operation

WildWaterSwimmer · 30/09/2020 21:24

I sorted out my underwear drawers and threw away anything past it's best. Now I keep opening the drawers and gazing in pleasure at how tidy and organised everything is.

No no no... what you do is - sort everything out and wear what you don't want and then throw it ..

..Always thinking :)

Like wearing old clothes the day before you go on holiday, then throwing them instead of washing them.

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/10/2020 14:47

I like the way you think! Will use the wear-then-throw strategy in future.
I haven’t got around to tidying the hall and kitchen dumping grounds yet, but I’ve cleaned all the handprints of the paintwork downstairs. I’m going to do the stairs and landing once I’ve done the school run.

WishIWasSomewhereElse · 01/10/2020 14:51

I wish I could motivate my lazy arse into action. I need to defrost my fridge as the ice is eating into everything at the back (there is no ice compartment in it, just an undercounter fridge). I also need to sort out my cupboards. I have honestly intended to do it for the last few days, but I feel so down I cannot get the oomph to get an do anything, even bathing is a struggle, plus I'm so tired I can't even think straight.

Need some top motivation tips.

steppemum · 01/10/2020 14:53

cleaned my French windows in my dining room.

Last done abotu a year ago and about a week aferwards, someone smeared a wet smeary patch all over the outside (it may have been the dog)
For a year I have been looking at it and thinking - I must deal with that.

Today I did it. It took presicely 5 minutes Blush

Next stop lounge windows, which look fine until about 4 pm when the sun shines in and then they look filthy.

Insides get done, but outsides are such a pain. I need the step ladder...

WellTidy · 01/10/2020 15:05

I excelled myself last weekend so I can’t do anything much more too soon. I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I am on a roll or anything, as there is only one way to go from there and it isn’t up.

Last weekend, I sorted out two drawers in the bathroom vanity unit and the cupboard that is under the sink in there. It still looks immaculate, which is a big achievement. I also sorted out and organised the kitchen cupboard under the sink which is now worthy of featuring in The Home Edit’s Instagram account.

I am still dining out on this and will do for a while.

Cindersincyberlockdown · 01/10/2020 15:10

I have cleaned the kitchen again

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/10/2020 15:40

I have to get it all immaculate by Saturday. DH has been away from 2 weeks and I’d like to give the impression that I am naturally tidy and so the house’s previous/ current state is not down to me Wink. I’m hoping he will magically become motivated by this into keeping on top of things...

sueelleker · 01/10/2020 19:37

@WellTidy. I sorted out the sink cupboard last week, as we had the plumber coming to deal with the kitchen tap. Now I know where everything is!

Letsgetbizzy · 01/10/2020 19:56

I have plans for A cupboard tomorrow.....

I just have to decide which one... 🤔🤔🤔

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/10/2020 21:33

Well, I sorted the dumping grounds in the kitchen and hall. The walls will have to wait as I can find magic erasers anywhere and my last one disintegrated. He’d better notice...

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/10/2020 21:34

Oh, and I tidied the wires behind the TV too Smile Now Wine

Nanalisa60 · 01/10/2020 23:09

Kolsch · 01/10/2020 23:22

I actually did tidy my sock drawer AND paired them up along with throwing the odd ones out.

lazylinguist · 01/10/2020 23:32

I am feeling very smug as I don't have to bother cleaning the manky fridge or the frankly disgusting and health-hazardous cooker as they are both outside in a skip and the kitchen fitters will be installing sparkly new ones. Grin

In terms of things I've actually achieved today to be smug about... Ummm.... I used the extra long hoover attachment to to get rid of all the hard-to-reach cobwebs on the ceiling. Oh and I started knitting a lovely pair of sicks for my MIL.

lazylinguist · 01/10/2020 23:34

Yay - do it! I thought I'd soon fall off the Kondo folding waggon, but no, it's for keeps. So much easier to get out what you want to wear without rummaging and creasing stuff!

PhilCornwall1 · 02/10/2020 05:29

Cleaned behind the cooker!! 😩

We had a new one delivered and I wanted to see how bad it was. Where does all that "stuff" come from? We are clean people!!!

Looks like it's now going to be a thing regularly cleaning behind that. Shall add that to the same list as cleaning behind the chairs and settee. Oh what fun!

Kolsch · 02/10/2020 06:13

@lazylinguist
I'm sure she will appreciate her lovely new pair of sicks 🤭

Anordinarymum · 02/10/2020 14:28

I did the kitchen cupboards today. I actually threw things away. Yay!

Well, my de cluttered bits remain de cluttered. But I still can’t be bothered hoovering. There’s just No sense of accomplishment with that!

Howmanysleepsnow · 02/10/2020 14:39

Well done to everyone with more lasting motivation than me!
