What is your go to greggs food?

Is the selection regional? I've never heard of some of these.
My go to is: A beef pasty ( a cornish pasty in disguise).
Yum yum or Belgian bun.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 24/09/2020 16:54

Lots of vegan sausage rolls 😋

TinaTraybake · 24/09/2020 17:02

@GwenCooper81
Yes Greggs have a regional menu so you can only get some stuff in certain places

Beef & Vegetable pasty but it’s the thing they often don’t have for some reason. They do a nice vanilla slice too.

ThePerfectPintOfIceColdBeer · 24/09/2020 17:33

Love a sausage bean and cheese melt!

And their coffee and hot chocolate is way better and cheaper than other coffee places which I shall not name

NellyJames · 24/09/2020 17:46

Cheese and onion pasty but they also do a really nice cheese salad baguette.

Their mince pies are nicer than any others I’ve tasted including all the supermarkets and some very expensive brands.

MsSquiz · 24/09/2020 17:47

@JingsMahBucket Greggs we're doing fine until they had to shut down production yesterday due to Covid cases. (A relative works there, but luckily in a different part of the factory)

My order depends on my mood, but it's usually (in this order):
Sausage roll
Jam Donut
Stottie cakes
Steak bake
Peach melba
Tuna baguette
Chicken mayo baguette

YouveGotMeWhosGotYou · 24/09/2020 17:48

Vegan sausage roll.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 24/09/2020 17:49

I used to live near a Gregg's outlet shop in the 90s - 10 yum yums for a pound.
I ate a lot of cheese and onion pasties during my first pregnancy but discovered recently they aren't as nice as I remember.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 24/09/2020 17:50

All I can think about is buying a bloody Greggs now, despite saying I rarely eat there. Grin

CigarsofthePharoahs · 24/09/2020 17:50

Doughnuts, drinks and sausage rolls
Everything my body needs.

To be sung to the time of Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll by Ian Dury.

Specifically a caramel custard doughnut. Perhaps an almond croissant if I'm feeling really indulgent.

52andblue · 24/09/2020 18:12

Veg soup and a steak bake / tomato soup and a cheese and onion bake
Occasionally one of their shortbread biscuits with the jammy heart
Their coffee is really good.
cheap and filling

Crunchymum · 24/09/2020 18:31

Have never been to Greggs and come out sausage roll-less Grin

So I try to avoid.

I do like their chargrill chicken oval bite and their Tottenham cake.

mmgirish · 24/09/2020 21:45

@SpunBodgeSquarepants

Chicken bake Tottenham slice Also I find their coffee is nicer than Costa and half the price...!
That's what I used to have to when I lived in England. No coffee though.
iklboo · 24/09/2020 21:55

Sausage roll and a yum yum.

Quirrelsotherface · 24/09/2020 21:56

@07BobbinThreadbare123

Sayers! Now there's a memory. Absolutely the best doorstop toast and butter I have ever tasted.

Swingoutsistersledge2 · 24/09/2020 22:00

Cheese scones

TheLastStarfighter · 24/09/2020 22:03

I used to like them better when they were a more traditional bakers and you could get scones, and buy bread sliced or unsliced.

But I do like a sausage roll Grin

I’ve been in one of the production depots where they make the sausage rolls and I was really impressed. Proper ingredients. Exactly what I would use if I was making them at home, just in huge quantities. And yes, I got to taste test Cake

foreverandalwaysme · 24/09/2020 22:05

Southern fried chicken baguette

CoronaBollox · 24/09/2020 22:14

Cheese salad baguette, Tottenham cake and a ribena.

ilovebedtimestories · 24/09/2020 22:19

@CoronaBollox I’ve just had to google Tottenham cake. Is it just sponge with icing?

homemadecommunistrussia · 24/09/2020 22:29

A lemon muffin, I like the really fake fluorescent lemon curd in the middle.Grin

CoronaBollox · 24/09/2020 22:50

ilovebedtimestories pretty much Grin but it's so fluffy. It's pretty much the "school cake" in primary school, without sprinkles.

mrsbyers · 24/09/2020 22:50

Bacon bap and a coffee - fantastic value for money

mrsbyers · 24/09/2020 22:51

Oh and a bloomer , not sure what they put in there but stays fresh for ages
