I passed a garage today giving cars spray jobs and oh! The smell of spray paint was amazing.

I also love the smell of firelighters, the kind you would use to help a log fire start.

Freshly cut grass too, but that’s more normal!

Chlorine. Used to be a club swimmer as a child and it makes me nostalgic.

Cobblers? I think it's the glue

Oh melty plastic smell from the hard sticks of glue you put in glue guns.

Not a glue sniffer I swear.

I also like the smell of dusty old books, the slightly dusty smell of old churches and big country houses too!

Mangofandangoo · 19/09/2020 19:55

Pipe tobacco
Moth balls
Rubbers- although they don't seem to smell like they used to do nowadays
Tar
My Other Half when we meet up for his break and he's just finished pulling and pushing cages off a Truck. He has a lovely musky sort of smell to him and I could happily stay snuggled in his arms forever

I love the back of a pub smell: mix of proper chips and beer, odd i know.

And oppisitely, clean smells: bleach, antiseptic, tcp.

I also love the smell of ds(2) breath, especially when he was littler, like sweet tea (not ketones!)

Burning, petrol, grass and the smell when it has rained or is about to in summer (there's a word for it but I can't remember).

I quite like the smell of dh sweat Blush must be something pheromone related.

lakeswimmer · 19/09/2020 20:25

Petrichor (the earthy smell you get when it rains for the first time in a while)
Wet wool

meow1989 · 19/09/2020 20:25

Oh and the smell of new leaflets, and plastic (like a dinghy or lilo)

PolloDePrimavera · 19/09/2020 20:26

Mr sheen and cigarettes, not smoke going up my nose though.

JeffVaderneedsatray · 19/09/2020 20:31

My DH rallies. He drives a rather ancient rally car. There is a particular smell that adheres to him - a mix of hot oil, petrol and exhaust fumes - that I find divine.
We used to have a LDR many years ago and the weekends I drove to his he would work on his car while waiting for me to arrive. To me it is the smell of coming home - because he's my home.

I also love petrichor, cats' paws and saddle soap.

Nail varnish. Horse manure. Dogs paws smell a bit like crisps and sweat. A hamster's back.

I don't like the smell of ladybirds.

CrazyToast · 19/09/2020 20:49

Cigarette smoke and leather on a guy. Not sure where that came from!
