Apologies for the fail link.

But awww, diddums, Boris is struggling to afford a nanny and complaining about supporting his other children.

How my heart bleeds!

@Splodgetastic

If he has money worries that is a bit of a national security concern.
Yes, that was my thought and, I wonder, what they're suggesting.
VinylDetective · 19/09/2020 19:37

He’s in big, big trouble now. I was ridiculed a few months ago for saying he’d be gone before Christmas. I wonder if the bookies are taking bets on it now because I’m tempted to put a tenner on.

Pixxie7 · 19/09/2020 19:49

He is a millionaire so I don’t think he will starve.

He’ll have investments and family money. Blah blah.

The interesting story is that the right wing media are going for him. The bad news for us is that slimy Gove is hovering for the top job Sad

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/09/2020 20:05

oh dear. should have learned to keep it in his pants and to himself rather than havign children with multiple women that 'he cant afford' my sympthay is lacking but perhaps he would like some of the food parcels that were sent to us shielders when we went into national lockdown? i mean, you wont get a dinner party out of them but surely, if hes poor, then basic nutrition is all that should be expected??

annabel85 · 19/09/2020 20:16

Remember when he referred to his 6 figure Telegraph column as 'chicken feed'?

Somehow he strikes me as someone used to lavish spending and an expensive lifestyle.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/09/2020 20:25

@SheWranglesRugRats

If we paid our MPs a higher salary we might get a higher quality of candidate.

Fuck no. We need Far more MPs who have been social workers, teachers and bin men, not more city types who cannot afford to live on £75,000 a year.

Agree Wrangles

We need people who aren't going into politics for the power and money, but because they have a desire to see a fairer and more equitable society. Politics attracts w*nkers because they not only get a blooming' good wage, but they have almost unlimited expenses, subsidised food and drink, second home mortgages at competitive rates, offers of directorships even when they are in office) at ridiculously high salaries for very little work, and apparently, no matter how inept or corrupt they are, don't get sacked, but rather moved sideways so that they can muck up another area of government, (or upwards, so that they can much up several) and are never held accountable fo their actions.

Reading a few of these pieces which have come out this week from the right wing media and they tread a similar line (this often happens with the Tory press):
  1. Boris was weak at dealing with the unrest in the summer with the BLM, the statue shitstorm and 'pandering to the woke brigade' which has set the tone

  2. Failure to get a handle on the boat crossings from France

  3. Failure to explain his Brexit policy coherently, ending up having to deal with a potential rebellion from his own MP's

  4. A complete lack of leadership on COVID and constant mixed messages

  5. Led around by the nose from the scientists over Covid.

  6. It's as though Corbyn won after all

There's an acknowledgement from them he's not up to the job, but the subtext is 'you're on borrowed time'. I think the right wing press want Gove in because he'll be a lot more firmer with Covid, less lockdown and restrictions and more 'get back to the office' which is what their donors want. 'Sweden have the right approach' being a consistent point (if fatuous).

SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/09/2020 20:26

5) Led around by the nose from the scientists over Covid

Should that not be "led by the nose by Cummings"?

RuffleCrow · 19/09/2020 20:29

Maybe he should have splashed out on some condoms (no pun intended) rather than fathering kids left right and centre.

cyclingmad · 19/09/2020 20:40

To be fair at least he is paying to help all his children unlike on here where you often hear about men not paying to support their children.

With the number he has wouldnt surprise me.

£150k before tax for prime minister job does seem a bit low goven the responsibility you take on.

Plenty of roles on private and public sector paying way over that or close to that and the responsibility is not as great.

My director is on £110k and there are two more levels above him. His responsibilities really don't compare to that of PM.

I woukdnt take on the PM role at that salary it isnt worth the stress or the hours. If you looked at how many hours they do, latr night meetings, emergency meetings etc. Is it worth it? Heck no.

I agree completely.

The story here isn’t ‘Boris is skint’.

It’s ‘Right-wing knives out for Boris’

What a hero.

Pebblexox · 19/09/2020 20:42

Oh dear.
It's actually embarrassing that a man that has been entrusted to run a country can't even run his own finances properly.

PigletJohn · 19/09/2020 20:52

Pob-Gove

Boris is 'broke'!
Viciouslybashed · 19/09/2020 21:10

I don't do twitter but what are the rumours on there?

RainbowParadise · 19/09/2020 21:19

This could be the worlds smallest violin playing a tune for Boris in all his woes 🎻

Or it could mean something else 😉

Dowser · 19/09/2020 21:31

I don’t think his wealth is anywhere near David Cameron territory
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he really hasn’t got that much dish
And no, pm wages are nothing compared to what’s out there in the private sector

AnnaMagnani · 19/09/2020 21:31

Maybe google Boris violin Wink

Dowser · 19/09/2020 21:32

Dosh

Phoenix21 · 19/09/2020 21:42

@Dowser since that article he got divorced from a QC whom he would prefer to remain silent, so I assume she got a good settlement.

I wonder if the 3.1m worth included the marital home? Plus he has just allegedly paid for a super injunction. That all adds up.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a bit short. Couldn’t happen to a nicer man.

Viciouslybashed · 19/09/2020 21:48

I googled. What a nice man he is.

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 19/09/2020 22:48
