Apologies for the fail link.

But awww, diddums, Boris is struggling to afford a nanny and complaining about supporting his other children.

How my heart bleeds!

It's pretty low compared to other developed world leaders.

weepingwillow22 · 20/09/2020 06:54

Maybe he should quit then and go back to his Telegraph column. He must be getting some backhanders from his friends he has supported with untendered government contracts.

borntobequiet · 20/09/2020 07:24

I’m not so good at reading images but that photo with Sunak just inside the door looking around as if sizing up the room - while looking sharp in a nice suit - does look as though it’s trying to say something.

I'm not sure the Torygraph would have him back. I was just reading the other day that they're desperate to save money, and a failed ex-PM isn't quite the same draw for their readership as a putative future PM.

Pobblebonk · 20/09/2020 07:28

I don't think the fact that he's paying for his children demonstrates anything about his morals. He knows perfectly well it would go down like a lead balloon with the electorate if he didn't.

annabel85 · 20/09/2020 08:05

@Dowser

I don’t think his wealth is anywhere near David Cameron territory I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he really hasn’t got that much dish And no, pm wages are nothing compared to what’s out there in the private sector
A main reason he wanted to be PM was to become filthy rich. You just have to wait until you leave office.
Eyewhisker · 20/09/2020 08:11

Ironically, he’ll probably become the first Prime Minister whose after-dinner speech rate goes down after being in the job. My heart bleeds.

TheWordWomanIsTaken · 20/09/2020 08:32

Indeed, he wanted to become the PM and he wants to have been the PM.
He just doesn't want to be the PM.
I do think the after dinner circuit when he leaves will be lucrative. Although it fathoms me why someone might want to listen a word this lying, deceitful, flimflam man might utter. But there are some out there that would pay to listen to his repetitive, same old, same old schtick and bluster.
Idiots

I don’t think they would. In the space of a year they’ve turned 180. Allison Pearson wrote about him as if he was the messiah when he first got the leadership. Now The Telegraph is bad mouthing him at every opportunity. What a terrible shame.
weepingwillow22 · 20/09/2020 09:23

There is always the international speakers circuit. Blair got as much as £400k per speech. I expect Johnson would be popular in parts of the US.

SheWranglesRugRats · 20/09/2020 09:27

I’m not sure the bits of the states that would like to listen to Johnson would get on well with his faux Latin schtick.

midsomermurderess · 20/09/2020 10:09

He had a lot financial responsibilities and made assumptions about how he would live his life when he was high earning so of course now he feels strapped for cash. And he has never had to worry about the price of a pint of milk. But really it's setting up the background to his resigning in January, as many commentators etc seem to know is in the cards.

ssd · 20/09/2020 10:12

Maybe he could childmind, or take in ironing?

AdelaidePlace · 20/09/2020 10:22

I thought the PM job would pay more than £150k

Bit stupid really when the Tories own 'free school and academy programme' (privatisation if state schools) means that trust appointed CEO's of small academy chains earn more than he does!

I remember reading someone say they saw him do an after dinner speech where he turned up all flustered, making out he'd lost his notes and then off the cuff just stuttered about and then told jokes which had everyone in the room laughing. They were then shocked when they saw him at one of these speeches years later doing the exact same thing.

He's just an act.

mummabear1967 · 20/09/2020 10:23

But surely with the amount of money Boris earns he can afford anything?

SkepticalCat · 20/09/2020 10:30

@annabel85 here's the article that you mention. An act indeed.

BarnardCastleSpecsavers · 20/09/2020 10:32

He could always run a whelk stall. Oh, wait..

borntobequiet · 20/09/2020 10:39

@BarnardCastleSpecsavers
Great name!

Also true about the whelk stall

LomasLongstrider · 20/09/2020 10:55

I agree he needs to take on another job, nights maybe, on doing ironing for cash in the evenings, to supplement his main income, if he can't manage on what he has. The government isn't made of money you know, if he wants more, he needs to put the work in...

"keep his penis in his pants for a change instead of the ladies of London"

^This too.

He's an entitled, hypocritical prick, people are commiting suicide in droves because UC and disabilities or lack of jobs/prospects are leaving them financially crippled. I'm a single parent, working part time and managing to raise my son on less than £10,000 a year. He needs a reality check big time.

WiserOlder · 20/09/2020 11:00

So is Carrie standing by him even though he's just had a baby with somebody else?!

What age is the 6th child?

What?!!!???? Another one?!Shock
WiserOlder · 20/09/2020 11:04

Wikipedia says "at least 6 children" which is an unusual way of giving that information. Definitely leaves it open to suggest that he could have 7

Looks that way. Although they’re still not married ...
WiserOlder · 20/09/2020 11:06

Wow.

I guess like Melania, deals are struck. Leave, but not yet
