Watch us wreck the mike, watch us wreck the mike, watch us wreck the mike.
Psych.

Now gather nicely in groups of no more than six...
Unless you're outdoors in Wales...

Oh well, come on in whatever the laws where you are. Plenty of space in this bubble of sanity Wink

“But I would rather die than let my kids suffer like this. People are stupid thinking it won't affect their family as they have enough money. It will. We all affect each other. Imagine when my two start school. Increasing numbers of children with problems due to low income etc. Everyone is related. We can't turn our backs on each other. Which is what everyone is doing. But it is sold as, "we are all in this together." It is the opposite of that! It's infuriating.“

That’s how I feel. I and my family are protected from the worst immediate effects. But we will all be affected by the economic and social fallout of our disastrous response to the situation.

@wanderings, next week. 30th I think. Any of you seen the headlines breaking overnight re Vallance and Whitty both having commercial interests in vaccine companies. But obviously that doesn't influence their decision making at all.

Plus I have an amazing resting bitch face so have never been challenged over mask wearing!

The worst thing is that I don’t think anyone expects better of our politicians anymore. I expect them to be self serving corrupt arseholes.

Agree but these aren't even politicians. They're unelected appointed advisors who are now dictating and guiding the direction of this country. If I want to stand as a town councillor I need to declare any conflicts of interest, they must have had to do the same but someone decided it wasn't a big enough deal to matter? Madness!

We need a new thread!

RealityExistsInTheHumanMind · 24/09/2020 09:19

@110APiccadilly
I did kind of understand it - but I couldn't have explained it like you did. And I do know that despite that happening, each year from 65 I have a smaller chance of surviving the next 12 months, which is slight at the moment but increases more rapidly as I get older (I'm sure there will be a name for the curve Grin )

@Ibake, this is an excellent BMJ blog from the fab Tom Jefferson in 2017 blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2017/12/06/tom-jefferson-the-uk-turns-to-witty-vallance-and-van-tam-for-leadership-revolving-doors/

So this app. If I disable the contact tracing, but use the QR code thing - if it identifies a place I've been to where someone has had a positive test and the app beeps at me, is it then law that I have to isolate? Even if I have no idea if we were anywhere near each other at the time?

I'm not installing it, for this reason. Too risky.
Thanksitsgotpockets · 24/09/2020 12:33

There seems to be no way to check back out of the place you've scanned in to other than to scan into a new place..

NothingIsWrong · 24/09/2020 12:49

I had a look at the guidance - it's mandatory to isolate if notified by NHS Test and Trace. But does this include being notified by the app?

Ibake · 24/09/2020 12:51

Wow @skeptile, can't believe that was written in 2017, presumably with the help of a big crystal ball. Thanks for the link. How's life for you at the moment? How's your DC coping?

I agree. It’s disgraceful
justasking111 · 24/09/2020 13:08

Every edict that comes out makes me think that the governments worldwide are kneeling on the necks of their people. The App is just another push into the ground. Never mind BLM we all matter imo.
